Ok so let me get to the point. PvP needs a BIG update.
Update #1 We need new maps or arenas.
Update #2 We need a leader board or stats system one for you character and one for your fleet.
Update #3 We need more PvP match types.
Ok so, new maps easily understood. Leader board and stats system. This would be nice to have, compare your score with your friends or against other players, or fleets against fleets, maybe faction against faction. This would make it more competitive and I think would bring more players to PvP. Your stats could grant your player or fleet buffs like duty officer missions do, or titles and prizes. Whatever.....
Now I know making it more competitive could lead to trash talking, and miss treatment to players like in Call of Duty. Can?t do much about that other than adding a vote to kick from team feature in-game.
Moving forward, Match Types. Here are my ideas.
Raid... Yes like WoW..... Just a lttle different, one team attacks the other defends. Now this would be a faction against faction type only. But it would be nice to see winning and losing affect the battlefield. They could add a new section to sector space where you could chose the area you want to fight in, and the team that wins the battle owns the system. Your faction owns the system your team gets defense buffs. Buffs from other match types would be match type specific. For every battle you play in you gain Exp points and at the end of the month, the faction lines are reset and the battle begins again. All the Exp points you earn would be put in a reputation holding during the month, finishing jobs would gain you Marks, Items, Energy Credits and Dilithium. You could chose from like a 5, 10, or 20 battle project for example. Players that participate in KEY system battles win special prizes.
Starbase Red Alert PvP version, ground and Space
Space: every provision you have can be brought into the PvP version. For the attackers you?ll gain score bonuses allowing you to call in extra reinforcements or improving your teams attack stats, etc. For Defenders you have your Starbase and it?s provisions, as well as score based defense stats bonuses for your team. First team to 0 reinforcements loses.
Ground: Attackers will need to knock out 5 key system to take the base. Attackers will start out with 50 reinforcements, every time you die and come back you lose a reinforcement count. Defenders win once the attackers are reduced to 0.
Shield Array - Attacker: Destruction grants beam down reinforcements. Defender: Active status only active players can beam in, no security teams, no turrets, no drones.
Internal Defenses - Attacker: Destruction means no more automated turrets shooting at you. Defender: Active status grants you defensive turrets at all 5 stations
(If a defense turret is down you can rebuild it until the defense system is disabled.)
Internal Sensors - Attacker: Destruction grants stealth bonus against turrets and kit equipment, Ie turrets, pets, and drones, Defender: Active status grants you sensor sweep every 45secs. allowing to see your enemies positions on the mini map.
Main Computer Core - Heavily Defended if this system goes down the first 3 system go too.
Life support - If destroyed, a 2 minute count down begins until no more air to breath. Attacker: Hold out till time runs out, automatic win. Defender: Reduce enemy reinforcement count to 0 before time runs out.
Objective: Protect - Ground & Space protect and defend a Convoy or Diplomat from attackers.
Intel - Ground & Space, attack or defend a heavily armed base, break through it?s defenses, grab the intel or prototype and make it out alive. Time limit based.
Capture the Flag - Ground only. Same faction war game. Or faction base battle.
Strike - Massive 20v20 player battle where the attackers have to attack a base or system heavily defended. 4 teams of 5 start on 4 sides of the map and work their way toward the middle. The base defenses will have 3 stages each. Attackers must defeat a stage before moving on to the next. All 4 attacking team must reach the last objective or 4th stage and destroy it to win. Defenders have to hold out. Each attacking team will have 5 minutes to destroy their first stage, every time you destroy a stage you gain an extra minute and a half for the next stage. If all 4 team destroy the stage your whole team gets a time bonus. To destroy you plant bombs on targets and defend them. Defenders can disarm the bombs. All times for stages and bombs would be decided by Cryptic.
Anyways those were my thoughts on PvP. Thanks for reading if you read the whole thing, sorry it was so long. Tell me what you think.

Dammit Jim, I'm a doctor not an escalator!!!
kind of like OP-
VIP - one ship is selected by the team as the VIP, it cannot die and has to move from one point to another.
Convoy - another idea for VIP, except there is a freighter that the team controls and must get it to a location on the map, but the other team doesnt know that location. It would be nice to use screening ships and decoys in pvp, maybe a 10v10 mission. lots of objects to hide in and around from nebula and
Other ideas-
Mutara Nebula - granted the nebula is gone ala Genesis boom, but have a fight where acc is hampered, visibility is highly limited, and no one has shields, no cloaks probably. Mobility is hampered. Could be a fun 1v1 if small enough.
Death match - you only live once
Azure Nebula-esque - there are ships to free, except the team that you are fighting is not Tholians, but other players.
Update cap and hold - max hull of ship influence capping, gives more reason to team up escorts on cruisers and make more fun than just the musical capping that happens now with a few pugs slugging it out in the middle
I am not interested in ground till I can spec ground traits without taking risk as a disadvantage in space, in short space and ground spec need to be completely isolated from another with caps not overlapping. Completely different game mode anyways, the tradeoff is unsuitable for a non-random pvp queue system which would give a chance of both ground and space pvp.
PvE Jem'Hadar motto:Participation Ribbonsare life.
At this point, I'm starting to think cryptic has done enough upgrades... It's about time to start making things work for the casual player. Some people have suggested leaderboard?
I think there needs to be more game types, i think that woulod help the casual player. I am not a fan of arena, but I don't want to always have to play a a2b dem faw monster. Sometimes I just want to heal and slug it out, cap and hold i smore fun for me, but too many go ing and make it arena.
