Just a few questions that I've had. Felt like seeing what others had to say about them.
Why do special consoles or console sets need to take up normal console slots? Why not give ships a slot(s) for special consoles? The better the ship the more slots. Max 3 for a set. Or make them special ability slots. I feel like most are worthless because they take up a slot just to add an ability from something that could increases your ships stats.
Why are the Borg Spheres more powerful than the Borg Cubes? Hell the Borg Transwarp gates are more powerful than the cubes.
Why is it that the crystalline entity event has a 10 player count.... Yet the Hive Onslaught event which features 10 Borg Cubes and 10 Borg Spheres right at the beginning has only a 5 player limit? Why not change the Hive mission to 10 players. Its the Borg for crying out loud. They're not weak enough for 5 ships to destroy that many cubes.
Why haven't they brought out older cannon ships? Ie Springfield, Constellation, Niagara. Because CBS wont let them? Maybe because they're too old? No creative way to introduce them? Why not bring older class ships out as skin variations for ships already in-game. Would make for more combinations right, more custom looking ships. Or even make a ship bundle for the C-Store.
Why did Cryptic leave out the Norway Class FED ship? It was a fairly new class to Star Trek, newer than the Galaxy, Akira, or Saber. Why not bring the Norway Class out in a lock box? Lets face it, we're all tired of mirror universe versions of ships we already own.......
This one is for those of you that like to make STO movies or vids. Why haven't they added in customizing ship interiors and crew uniforms? They said they were. "Because employees and teams leave, and projects die." Which is what Cryptic said. Why not add it in now. With the release of the Romulan faction, the KDF and Romulan faction areas and ship interiors make the FED's look like they need a overhaul.
Why aren't there more PvP game types? Hell why are there still only like 6 maps. Missing an update somewhere? cough...... Why not add a siege or raid type. I know that's like WOW. But think about, would you play PvP if there were more match types, like objective, rush (Battlefield reference) or even if they had a Starbase Red Alert were it was PvP. I'd like to bring attention to more PvP upgrades. This mmo is way too single player and PvE based.
Ok last one, well at least for now. Why doesn't the mini games have like leader boards, or stats? Why not make Dobo or the Dilithium mining do more for you as a player? Ie, Dobe could give out other prizes than Holo emiters. Or Dilithium mining stats could grant you more mined dilithium or a steady hand trait which allows the cutter to change less often.
Thanks for reading. As a STO player, let me know what you think.

Because Cryptic wants us to make a choice between making our ship better through regular consoles or give us unique powers through special consoles.

Numerous teams have completed Hive Onslaught on a regular basis. The Borg ships like to cheat sometimes, but it is much easier than doing 5 players with the Crystalline Entity event.

Only the devs can answer this, but some of the ships are already almost identical to other available ships that it serves no purpose to have both types of ships except as a ship costume. Better to spend time on unique looking ships than identical looking ships. There could also be licensing problems.

I think it was June or July 2012 Ask Cryptic that mentioned that they were waiting on tech from Neverwinter's Foundry system to see if they could use it for customizable ship interiors.
If you listened to the last couple of podcasts then you know that Geko is not fond of kit-bash ships in Trek. Most of the kit-bashes only have a few seconds of screen-time attributed to them and it's not know if there's enough fans willing to buy them to justify the production cost.
Geko did mention that they might add the Constellation as a T3 version of the Heavy Cruiser at some point in the future, though.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
spheres are tougher than cubes.
Hive space and ground are so broken that no one plays it anymore or if you can get a pug to spawn they all bail as soon as the unimatrix ships start lancing people at the spawn as soon as they appear. Last time I tried (2 days ago) I was dead before I could even hit my impulse button and was up to a 4 min cool down without ever getting off the spawn point. They need to fix it before thinking about adding additional team members.
There are hundreds of amazing ship designs from the Star Trek "Ships of the Line" calendars that have been designed over the decades that they could create. I have no idea why they don't. copyright issues perhaps.

That's it exactly. Cryptic would need to make licenses with each creator for each ship - just as they did with Mark for the Vesta. Why throw away thousands in legal and licensing fees on something that you don't know there's a market for?

I can't say for sure why they don't add it, but there's a problem with that ship in general:
It was made as a CGI-model for the cube-battle in Star Trek: First Contact, and after the production they accidentally erased the data without having it in a backup, resulting in that ship having no canon reference-model anymore as there never was a physical model and no other CGI-model before.
Yeah, Star Trek Legacy and some other games or game-modders tried their best to make faithful models of it but the original is unavailable. In fact, CBS could easily claim "It never existed." *just kidding*

The game does have the Oslo Class, which is based on the ideology of the Norway - thus the name.

I already figured that out when I saw it, but it really looks very different and to me it only resembled something like a successor or mix between Akira and Norway. The T3 Escort also has a variant that kinda resembles the Steamrunner, but the original Steamrunner became accesible for people who buy the Steam-Starter pack.
Only difference: The original CGI-model for the Steamrunner is still available.

I think the intent was that the Oslo is an successor, much like the Stargazer is the successor to the Constellation - being named after the only famous Constellation ship we know of.

Spheres are more maneuverable than Cubes, but that is it. Cubes have that nasty Borg Shield Neutralizer, hit harder, and are more durable. Of course, going against 2 or 3 Spheres would be more difficult than going against 1 Cube.
The problem you have with Hive Onslaught is that you are doing a PUG. A bunch of my fleet beats it on a continual basis. Sure it is a challenge and broken in places, but it is doable.
Oh I've beaten the Hive. But I'm a big star Trek fan and well I guess it just doesn't seem cannon enough. It is a broken mission though, needs a few tweaks but it can be beat. It just seems like the Borg being one of the most power enemies in Star Trek should be more powerful thus needing more players. But I know that game wise you need to make it beatable as well and not OP an enemy.
I did not know they were looking into ship interior customization again. Thanks for the info.
The Norway Class. That's funny they lost the info... HA.... That guy got fired....
The older ships, as a Trek fan I would like to see them at least come out with more older ships even as skins. But I figured is was licensing issues too. Damn you CBS... I recently found out that there's no back story to the Enterprise E's ending. CBS and Paramount wanted to leave it open for future books and such. All they gave us was that they went to a starbase came back and was decommissioned for unknown reasons. Lame...

Geko, you have a problem with ktibash ships? I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH REGENT AND AVENGER. At least the kitbashes look better and ARE CANON then the TRIBBLE you bring it. Heck New Orleans could have been the battlecruiser. Sorry geko try again.

lol, New Orleans would be better as an alternate skin for one of the mid tier Fed cruisers.
