Tonight, I played "One Too Many", which I haven't played in a while, and I noticed that Amanda Barclay seemed less expressive than before. She used to have different facial expressions when angry, afraid, etc. I think facial expressions might have been broken with Legacy of Romulus when they changed the old NPC dialogue window to the new one with the big view screen.
Yeah, character dialog animations are bugged out now. Facial expressions aren't the only issue with them. Some reviewers of my missions, particularly "Valley of the Shadow I", have reported that when playing as a Romulan, dialogue intended for the away-team engineering BOff is being displayed with the away-team science BOff instead. I've seen this too, and reported it to Cryptic, and they replied that it's a known issue but - surprise, surprise - they have no timetable for fixing it.

  . I wondered why my science officer was getting all the screen time.
A TIME TO SEARCH: ENTER MY FOUNDRY MISSION at the RISA SYSTEM Parallels: my second mission for Fed aligned Romulans.
Yeah, it's a problem that has been up and posted on since LoR was released and extends to all missions, not just foundry. In addition, when calling back to ship while on ground a generic officer of said type will report in, rather than the normal bridge officers left aboard.
Not sure when a fix is out there, but, I am looking forward to the fix as I am glad you noticed the difference in your play experience because of it. Not because there is a problem, but because you noticed means the proper version with the expressions goes over well enough to miss it!

I wonder if this is related to another bug I have. When I beam up from Starfleet Academy to the Sol System or or to the Sirius Sector Block, the dialogue window shows my engineering officer but the name of science officer. Similarly, in the mission "Federation Fleet Alert", the dialogue window shows my tactical officer but the name of my science officer.

For that particular mission, the facial expressions seemed carefully chosen to go with the dialogue, so it is easier to notice the difference. I'm not sure I would notice with every mission.
I suppose it isn't seen as a huge deal compared to other bugs. Even if it is real annoying when trying to animate people just right in foundry missions. Having the boffs turn up does ruin my latest foundry slightly though.
"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone

Thank you for confirming my observations. Has anyone logged a bug for this yet? My guess is that it is a general bug and not specific to the Foundry.
