Fleet Ar'Kif vs. Fleet Armitage

Gorn, Bort, Archon (or whomever setup the stats and availabilty for the Fleet Ar'Kif),

Why is the Romulan Fleet HEC not only an order of magnitude more accesible (Spire Tier 3 versus Shipyard Tier 5), but also statistically superior (BC, higher turn, 5 tac consoles)?

Was the plan to deliberately further obsolete the Armitage, a ship that is already a pain in the TRIBBLE to get as the fleet version?

    I think the early fleet ships that were set at tiers 4 and 5 were carrots on a stick to create incentive for SB progression.

    The actual performance of fleet ships seams to have been a secondary consideration when determining what tear to put them in. The popularity of the hull seems to have been a bigger concern.

    The Assault cruiser is T5 but inferior to the new T4 avenger. The T2 Tor'Kaht is superior to the T5 Negh'Var.

    I wouldn't quite say that about the Tor'Kaht...depends on what you're doing...but I get the point.

    I don't know why they're going out of their way to make Romulans so blatantly power...and I'm a Romulan. That or like someone suggested they gave the Fleet Ar'Kif 5 tac consoles because the ship isn't selling to well.

    You know what cryptic? If you're reading this there is a few things me and others would of rather had changed than just throwing another tac console onto it.

    For me there is two things that kept me from buying a Ar'Kif...Boff seating and the fact there is nothing Romulan to use except Scorpions.

    I don't know about the latter but the former is a problem for many people.
