And just as a reminder of how powerful the Borg truly are. That was a single assimilation cube against most likely the entire 3rd fleet, as the 3rd fleet guards Utopia Planetia and Earth. The Borg in STO are grossly under powered when compared to their canon counter parts. 6 ships should have no hope what so ever of facing even a single cube. The stronger they make the Borg in all instances, the closer they come to their counter parts.
Also saying that it's 2409 and not 2373 means nothing because the Borg adapt to all situations, including the passage of time and the invention of new technology and weapons by their enemies. They should be as serious of a threat in 2409 as they were in 2373.
Ah but the same could be said for our gear, it has been adapted to defeat the borg. Also the borg cannot adapt to what they cannot assimilate.
...for all but the very highest of DPS producers out there, there is once again, finally, a vague reason to enter a STF in anything other than a dakka machine. A reason to use a variety of ship configs and setups, a benefit to using a non-DPS focused build, a point to bringing a sci ship or a tanky cruiser into a run. That's a good thing, isn't it? It makes the game more interesting, doesn't it?
I consider myself an average player. I manage fine on all ESTFs with a 4k Avg DPS Sci ship and I really only find I am a detriment to my team on Level 7+ of NWS. Sometimes I die 3 or 4 times, sometimes I don't die at all, and in all honesty, most of my deaths resulting from the shield neutralizer come from me not hitting the right sequence of boff abilities, even when I get tag teamed by them.
But sure, go ahead and get the Borg nerfed. Again. Failing that, people could ask for Normal STFs to give more rewards if it's all too difficult instead of people crying nerf all the time when they try to put some minimum of challenge into the game.
Personally, I want the word 'Elite' to mean Elite and I would still play them over Normals even if Elites carried no rewards at all.
"So my fun is wrong?"
No. Your fun makes everyone else's fun wrong by default.

Not if their "new and improved" 2409 adapted technology as been recovered and backwards engineered, which it pretty much has.
