Tachyon Beam

The Avenger V.A.T.A. console has a Tachyon mode.

When the Tachyon Projectiles hit a target the targets shields take 15% more damage from all energy types for 15 seconds wouldn't it be nice if the bridge officer Tachyon Beam had such a effect making it useful outside of Crystalline Catastrophe mission?

    The Tachyon Beam ability is a shield drain that does absolutely nothing to the Crystaline Entity. Now if it -had- the resistance debuff effect you mentioned it -would- be of use against the CE.

    I believe the mission text states that tachyon beam decrystallizes the CE.

    At least, the wiki entry of the mission text states that.

    You know there are DOFFs that give abilities to Tachyon Beam, right? Warp Theorists gives Tachyon Beam a target turn rate debuff.

    And it still sucks see so few ever use Tachyon Beam outside of using it against the Crystalline Entity.

    That is true, because its not a very powerful ability and people rather have PH, TSS, and HE which is far more useful.
