Hi Captains,

We will be bringing down Star Trek Online tomorrow, Thursday, October 10th, at 7AM PDT (click here to view in your timezone) for maintenance and to apply a new patch. Patch notes can be found here, and we expect this maintenance to last for 2.5 hours. The test server, launcher and access to manage your account may also be unavailable during some portions of the maintenance.

    On behalf of myself and the others, I'd like to offer my thanks to you and the program engineers who've worked so hard on fixing the graphics crashing problem over the last week.

    Can't wait to visit SFA and see the memorial or ESD to get a look at the Avenger...

    Though could we get an elaboration on what "Enacting fail-safes for reward exploits in Foundry missions." means?

    For the fail-safes thing, I'm assuming that it boils down to "You're not going to be item farming anymore"? Or, at the very least "start working for your items"?

    either that or missions where you don't do anything and get the full 1440 dil reward for playing a mission

    They are probably doing the right thing with the AFK ban delay. That thing should be tested and re-tested 6 ways from Sunday before going live or it could turn the whole Q'd system into a nightmare if there is just 1 bug.

    I major bug that sent half the games pop into a 2-hour ban would mean an emergency shutdown to take it back offline. Better to be 110% sure it works first.

    Like to get an update on where we stand with getting these things fixed.. that have been on the list for a very.. very... very long time...

    - Adapted KDF helmet visuals, I have the other pieces unlocked but for some reason the helmet edition isn't listed in the tailor options, was reported by players some time ago....

    -Romulan Rep Clothing.. clipping issues.. still in effect.. eta on fix??

    Does this mean that they are getting rid of drops from kills in foundry missions? ... That would be something of an over nerf, would it not?

    So hoping that's not the case.

    Okay, okay, that was lame.

    Anyways... since the Devs seem to be out to destroy every single opportunity to make EC, it would be rather fitting their evil plans to get rid of loot in foundry missions.
    There was a time when I made a ton of credits by crafting stuff. Yeah... that's history.
    Tour the Universe worked then... well... that's history as well, so I just sticked to a few farming missions now and then. Guess what... they'll be history soon? :rolleyes:

    STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

    What, you mean like the 'Accolade Grind' missions and the ones designed solely to max out a player's daily loot limit?

    NOOOOO dont mess with foundry missions, I JUST STARTED doing them!!!!!
    theres people that have done it for YEARS on 14 toons, your going to cancel it now that i started. so unfair. BOOOOO cryptic boo!

    The fact others exploited the system in the past cannot justify further exploits.

    This is the time they put an end.

    No one can really expects the devs to tolerate such things forever.


    Instead, I would put more attention on this:
    Resolved an issue that was causing some types of graphic cards to crash STO while attempting to load in from the launcher.

    So STO crashing loading was due to some types of graphic cards...


    ...And when I submited 3 tickets - on request, because they even mess with tickets data... :o

    only to kindly ask if the LoR expansion' s graphic enhancements augmented the system requirements


    I received no answer...

    ...Just like the countless topics opened by countless users in the aftermath of the dreaded July patch

    Maps that aren't generated by the Foundry mission. That is, you don't get time credit for however long it takes someone to start your mission in the journal and then go from where they were to where your mission actually starts.

    So 1/4 of the spotlight "One too many" will not count towards the time doing it? because it's run from 1 console to another on ESD? Or is it the click this console then click that and its done foundry missions some people do hourly for dilithium? If the later and not the former is whats being nerfed I have no issue with it as I don't bother doing them but having to milk the other parts of some missions that already take 15+ minutes to get rewards because a large part of them is in a social zone is rather lame.

    So if I understand this correctly, the changes to the foundry are making it so that idle time and loading screens don't affect the time based dilithium rewards at the end?

    not sure about idle time but loading screens and any time spent on a social map (ESD, Drozana etc) does not count when calculating how much time the foundry mission takes. Keep in mind the reward is not based on how long you played it, but the average overall time.

    Hi Brandon.

    The sound files fix, will this also fix the issue relating to The Enterprise in the Tau Dewa daily patrol mission where we sometimes end up with Shon speaking getting stuck in a loop, and the only way to stop it is re launching. Or does this fix only apply to the recent sound related issues on ESD DS9 etc

    So the Foundry changes are these:
    - Dilithium exploits are being closed
    - EC Farming missions are unaffected

    Does that pretty much sum it up?

    Foundry:
    ~ Enacting fail-safes for reward exploits in Foundry missions.

    Were people allowed to exploit a glitch in the timer; thus, gamers were getting a reward for leaving early?

    I do not play Foundry missions, so I am only making a guess.

    This is the first I've ever heard of timers counting when you're on the map. I typically end up grabbing a Foundry mission if it looks good and may not play it for weeks. :confused:

    Actually, Brandon - any thought on putting in a "bookmark" system for Foundry missions? That would be awesome. Just something to pass along.
