Generic Ships

In the next lockbox. Instead of the return of the mirror ships... could we get the Alien "Generic" ships, seen in exploration clusters etc ?


Frigate
Escort
Cruiser
Science
Battleship

Maybe they could have several hull materials and different engine colour trails (like the risian corvette) :P

    Need a better name than generic... the frigate looks like the Talarian ship... so

    "Talarian Warship"

    As for the others... plenty of canon, exploration races or foundry races for cryptic to choose from.

    Are you just asking for the models or the ability to mix an match features to create your own fully custom ship?

    A couple of issues worth mentioning; as noted, the Frigate model is basically the Talarian ship. The Battleship (Type 1) is the Hirogen battleship. As Season 8 takes place mainly in the Delta Quadrant, I fully expect the next lockbox to be a Voth lockbox.

    The question then is whether or not the Hirogen are added as a playable species for the Romulan faction. If not, then I wouldn't be surprised if a Hirogen lockbox is released. If they are, the ship will either be revamped and added as a C-Store ship, or will be replaced by a brand-new model.

    Short of the Temporal Ships and the Tal Shiar Warbirds, I dislike the idea behind lock boxes. Not because of what they cost or anything like that, but rather because far too many people are flying around in non Federation / Klingon ships.

    Where is the enjoyment in fighting all of these unique alien craft if you can have half of them for yourself? I would have rather had missions where you're able to command an alien ship for a brief time than I would you be able to command one permanently. I understand why it's done, I just don't like it (for that reason alone, I don't fly anything other than faction specific ships).

    Mirror Ships are nice, but then they're plain and quite dull. They're essentially a Boff Switch and new skin. That being said, it saves 200,000 dilithium for a new Tier 4/5 ship.
