I've been wondering about this ever since I started using ships with hangars and considering all the different types of carrier pets out there.
As an example, I will run the Atrox Carrier with Advanced Stalkers. I run Tetryon beams on the carrier and of course the stalkers have tetryon pulse cannons.
The question is when I run Tetryon Tactical Consoles, it obviously increases tetryon damage on my Atrox, but does that also make the stalker's tetryon pulse cannons do more damage?
How about skills? If I have, as an example, a lot of skill in Energy Weapons, does that affect the stalker carrier pet energy damage also?
That's just one example. You could ask this of any carrier/pet combination.
If the skills and Tac consoles are for the carrier only and unrelated to the carrier pets, I would definitely like to venture out into some other types of carrier pets; but if they are related, it seems to me you want to try and have pets that have the same energy damage, etc as what you have on your carrier to get the most out of them.

tetryon stinks if your equipping to actually fight in that litterbox if your equipping to roleplay then anything goes.
Afaik no tac consoles affect pets, so it wont matter what weapons your main ship or pets use.
The only thing that used to affect them, was high aux to lower the cooldown on pet activation, but I am not even sure that works now, since they unified all pet cooldowns...
I have to agree with you. LOL. I've been using tetryon to be consistent with the stalkers. But if there's no link in performance whatsoever between pet and carrier, I will definitely be changing things up. I've had my eye on those Elite Scorpion Fighters. And maybe Anti-Proton beams for the carrier. I haven't decided yet.
According to the sto wiki skills do effect fighters, but consoles do not (obviously a console that boosts a skill thaylt buffs fighters benifit fighters indirectly).
What does also benifit fighters is the Wing Commander Trait (totally worth it) and Flight Deck Doffs.
I could be mistaken and it may have been fixed, but I did notice tac consoles were in fact increasing dmg output on the romulan drone ships as they match their weapons to the dreadnaught that launched them.
