I've been skimming loads of threads recently and vaguely remember reading a line someone wrote...
The poster was discussing having listened to an interview with Geko and a brief discussion about Lethean Ships. I cannot now for the life of me find either the 3hr+ podcast mentioned nor the damn thread it was in so what I put here should be taken lightly.
The line from the post described how, since so few players play a Lethean Captain, what was the point of having a Lethean ship? I could not fathom whether the poster was paraphrasing Geko or adding their own opinion so I'll address both with the same answer...
Kumari 3-pack, Atrox carrier and D'Kyr.
I do not see huge numbers of Andorians running around ESD, DS9, Bajor, Drozana, et al. and yet any Fed character, regardless of race choice, can choose to buy and fly the Kumari-variants. Likewise for the "kitty carrier" and Vulcan ship.
Similarly, we KDF have Orion, Fekhliri, Nausicaan and Gorn ships but can fly them with our Liberated Borg/Alien/Klingon happily.
So why would we want a Lethean ship?
I see this as an opportunity for Cryptic to design a kick-a** ship of a class the KDF is sorely lacking - namely science. I see it as being comparable to the Luna class (RSV) but with something "more" to make it feel distinct and definitely a VA ship. (CMD Sci, LtC Sci, Lt Eng, Lt Tac, Ens Tac with turn, base hull, weapons and console slots being the same as an RSV too. I'm sure others have their own ideas. They could go down the route of having an innate MES skill (since the Letheans are traditionally spies and information traders and would want to be surreptitious about it).
We know Cryptic can design great "alien" ships (love the corvette, like the Breen NPC ships) so a Lethean ship should not be beyond their abilities.
Regardless, I'm going to roll a Lethean as my next KDF toon so I can try the "free" ships we got recently (as they don't suit any of my others without major respeccing). Maybe, one day, he'll be able to fly a Lethean ship.

The one thing we don't have is regular cruisers, which we never missed because they offered too little, now they do, so I'd suggest Leathean Cruisers, with all four comm array powers.

And yet the Fed-side has the Intrepid (and all it's refits/retrofits), the Nova (and it's variants), the Nebula (and its Retrofit), the Vesta (a 3-pack no less), the Luna/RSV (etc.), the DSSV (et al.).
How many do the KDF have with the Gorn Support Vessels? Oh, yeah... And how many of these do you see flying? I've seen more KDF Sci captains in B'Rel variants, being creative with the Universal BOFF layout, than I have ever seen Sci Captains in any Gorn Support Vessel.
I'm suggesting a ship from the one race we don't have a ship for in the one role for which we have fewest ship choices (I don't think the KDF needs Cruisers, our Battlecruisers do a better job IMHO with being able to slot DHCs, but this is, of course, my opinion).

Yes! I love my Lethean and he's a Science Officer, it would be nice for him to have a matching ship. I've tried the ships available but we are really starving for KDF ships and why not add a Lethean one? This race needs more love...

B'Vat's lethean bodyguards in the Doomsday Device mission had hoods, that'd be nice to have.
