Since turning the old epic STFS into simple queue events, Battle Group Omega has totally lost it's usefulness. Upon completing an STF you would race excitedly to BGO (maybe even with your brand new borg engines) and purchase something anti-borg with your medal.

There is really no point it BGO existing anymore, beyond story fluff. The whole sector block's only purpose now is to give you a few extra missions and a long flight to Undine space. The only time I pop there is for "tour the universe" and I've stopped doing that thanks to the cooldown.

Now if they were to stick the Dyson Sphere somewhere in that sector block, it might give BGO some renewed reason for existing.

I can see the reason for not making any sort of major changes to that stuff, STO is a mmo game which means your going to have new players to the game joining all the time. It may have lost it's usefulness to those of us who finished the borg story missions a long time ago, which, you can probably say about all the story mission stuff, but, they have to keep it in the game for new players who haven't done it yet. One change I'd make is make battle group omega more like the romulan flotilla where you have a command ship to beam onto with ship and clothing tailors, all that stuff and rather than having fast, anytime access to the reputation stuff just by going to your stats screen, i'd have npcs there to handle the stuff for the omega rep. For that matter there could be npcs on Nukara and New Romulus to handle those rep stuff.
The way the game is right now theres no need to travel anywhere, can just park most anywhere and have full access to everything.

They could do so much more with Gamma Orionis if they'd just break the 'Borg Stronghold' concepted.

Think about it; Cestus III, that's on the border of Gorn space (TOS: "Arena"), could have some nice missions involving Gorn Separtists/Resistance there. (Feds trying to support them, KDF trying to put it down)

Mutara Nebula - can anyone else say investigating after-effects of the Genesis Planet's creation and destruction? (Maybe even feature a guest appearance by the remains of the Enterprise NCC-1701, such as we find the blown up and burnt out bridge deck floating in space, all that remains of the once proud flagship - as a an accolade we could recieve "In Kirk's Footprints" and a replica of the Enterprise's dedication plaque as a wall trophy...) Or a mission to Ceti Alpha V involving the Ceti Eels mind-control effects?

^Words that every player should keep in mind, especially whenever there's a problem with the game...

The movies only called it the Mutara Nebula, not a Mutara class nebula. If you could show me where anything says it's not the same "Mutara Nebula", I'll concede the point. Until then, however, I'm going to go with it being the same nebula.

Gamma Orionis should be in proximity to Gorn Space, according to the presence of Cestus III...

There's nothing left of the enterprise but space dust....the thing burned up in the atmosphere and if parts did make it to the surface there would be bits and peices, then those peices blew up with the planet.

I think there should be another old-school-STF-style raid-feel (Terradome!!1!one1!) STF for, which BGO is the launching point.

A lot of talking about the Gorn. That sounds nice as well.

Even if there isn't gonna be a Gorn Rebel mission arc (which should be there, counting the hundreds of millions of rebel gorn I shot down :D) there should at least be a mission of Gorn vs Borg. There are assimilated Gorn on Defera. Where did they come from? What is their background? Are there more of those in the universe?

As for the Gal-X dreadnought interior. I kinda like BGO for the space. But like I said before, if that is what it takes to revive this map, then sure. And I don't think people will whine that they want that stuff on their own Gal-X: how many people are complaining about the Ha'apax interior, even though that is the ship you are on in the Flotilla?

    Keep up the discussion!

EDIT: there is another thing against a Gal-X interior: the map is for ALL factions. Would we really want to rule out all KDF warriors from one of their few social hubs? Imagine the zillions of rants on the forums that day.

Well, there are many players requesting this map to be removed due to being useless.

    But is it?

A nice Social hub placed in the Sirius, Omega Leonis AND Gamma Orionis sector block. Which is also cross-fac! I don't know about you, but sometimes I like it to talk with some KDF in-game while being fed and so on.

I love the convenience and the privacy of this map.
It's only drawback for me is the pea soup green space background.
I'd really love to see something very dark, with maybe a little blue...
If they were to change it (the map) too much, Id have to go to...(oops, almost let it slip).

I consider it highly unlikely that you will ever see a romulan representation in Omega fleet. My reasoning for this is that Romulans are an allied force that belong to either the federation or the KDF and do not exist as a separate entity. therefore there is no reason to include them in Omega fleet..
