So I have been away for a bit, and as a lifer, I had some CC build up. I was considering what new ship would best go with my Romulan admiral. I picked up the Romuland quasi-expansion when it came out, and while some of the ships were great to level up in, I just didn't get a feeling of "HELL YEAH". So I put a few bucks down on some CC, and pondered long and hard - pick up the Scimitar three pack, or go with the new tactical carrier and use the remaining CC on something else.
I have to say, even though I have only tried out the engineering version so far, it definitely has the "HELL YEAH" factor I was looking for. Got killed a couple times, mostly all my own doing, but I was more than pleased with the survivability and damage output, even with relatively TRIBBLE gear. I am working on upgrading, and can't wait til I get it fully decked out.
Until I saw the changes to tactical skills today, I was planning on building a torpedo boat for the CE event and normal PvE session. I may still do it, once I see how that is all going to play out. Not every nerf is a wholly bad thing.
Suggestions on how to best gear up the science version are welcomed. Keep in mind, I do not have max reputation with any species yet, and I haven't done any STFs. I want to get my chops back and outfit my ship, and tweak my BO setup before I try my hand at an elite. I don't want to be "that guy" in an STF lol.
They make a wondrous mess of things. Brave amateurs, they do their part.
