Any throttle control or similar to be used in STO?

I am looking for something similar to a throttle control for a flight sim; I know that STO has configurable buttons, but I am not sure if that apply also for analog controls, since I do not have one.

The idea would be to move most of the navigation controls on the throttle control (speed, skills related to maneuvering the ship and use the hat control to steer the ship), while the other hand uses the mouse to control other things.

There was some time ago, a nice app for ipad, which was basically a configurable control pad, but it was not that responsive

I want to get one of these combo with stick and throttle, but I am not sure if it will work with STO...and I don't want to waste 140 dollars for it. I play rarely to space sims and flight sims, so at most I can use it for mechwarrior

Anyone uses a throttle control or similar device to play STO? Thanks!

I know people can use joysticks in sto, it should be just as simple to rig it to steer by hat switch, but I'm not sure you could map a throttle to the impulse bar

Q is throttle down
E is throttle up
R is iether full throttle or full stop depending on if yoir throttle is active.
Look in the PvP section of the forums, there is a Key bind thread that will have the people who will know how to help you bind a custom throttle control.

Using a joystick is a royal pain as the game refuses to like them...

So the analog stick and throttle are recognized? My concern is not the button binding, but the binding of the Q and E to the analog X+ and X-....if the game does not allow to assign the throttle to an analog , it won't work (I was told on another forum to ask here, because there they told me that there is the risk that it won't work).

I vaguely recall using my X52 with STO, but that was ages ago (sticks are very unwielding in this game), and my memory ain't too good. I would be willing to try it, but not for a few days as I am away from home.
