So the new tactical warbird gets a hanger, making it an escort carrier. While i bought it the day it released(love the design ) and i play all three factions equally,i cant help but think that my Tac KDF captain has no escort carrier, only a big whale of a ship with a thin veneer of "escort" (the karfi). Before my fed catiain could say that the Armitage was unique to the feds. Then came the Jemhadar escort carrier,a fine ship by all counts, one the KDF could lay their hands on,but sadly a lockbox ship. And then the Scimitar. But still my Reman captain could say that its a "dreadnought with a hanger",so its still unique. But with the advent of the Arkif, that argument is past.

Come on cryptic, give my KDF captain an escort carrier, heck charge us 3000 zen for it,id still buy it.Make it a nice Nausicaan ship or a Gorn ship;we already have many klingon ships and orion ships make me sick:rolleyes:

    This ^

That man is wize you better listen to him you have overdone it with romulan OP stuff.

You cant really earn more money from that source.

Now you better give us some the fanatic KDF players that play ONLY KDF a reason to get our money....

Because i know you PWE are greedy sandbags i know that sooner or later you will pay attention to KDF also since its the ones that you left in the dark to grow strong and then milk them.

Hehe the older i get the more i understand how things work on this rock.

I started playing in season 3. Yes, I attempted to play KDF back then.... didn't work very well... Looking at the way KDF is now compared to back then, I really don't see why people whine about it so much.

We are miles beyond the dark days of STOs beginings, I agree. Much of those dark days could not be helped, Cryptic did what they had to to survive.
Now though hings are better and the work force is larger. Its a good time to take it out for a spin and really give the KDF faction some more substance.
In fact the only thing that makes my Klingon blood boil is not that the feds get something new before us or that the Roms get something even.
Homestly its just that some fans still like to rub our noses in it when it happens and lay blaim on us the fanbase.
(I am not including you in that viewpoint btw, just speaking my mind in general terms)

Given the number of KDF players who love to run their mouths about "I love the taste of Fed tears" and other such nonsense, trying to push other players to quit the game, are you genuinely surprised that there are Fed players who feel the same way? One can't run their mouth without expecting that other people won't respond in kind.

Not surprised at all. Just ready for the sillyness to stop on all sides.
Frankly I do not understand what one gets out of the display of such actions as the action taker.
Surely my or others flip switch angry retorts are not that entertaining.

LOL :D Are you kidding me? Because some immature kid gloated at someone in the almost broken PvP, that's a reason for someone to quit STO?? Whoa, if a person can be pushed to quit a game he/she likes because of nonsence like that, he/she souldn't be playing MMOs in the first place.

Oh and a bit of shocking news - immature people from every faction do this. It's not KDF exclusive. I'm saying this as someone who has chars all across and plays all factions.
While we're at it, you do realize that this same behavior happens in PvE as well right? Furthermore in a same faction as well? I've had people trash talk to me because I've been the only Klingon in a STF and I've been trash talked to for bringing a Galaxy Retro in a STF.

You oughta respec your traits, Roach. Maybe put in an Inspirational Leader one instead?
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

In order to tap into Inspirational Leadership I must believe in what I am involved in, and I no longer believe in STO, Cryptic, PWE or thier "desire" to grow the KDF (or PvP for that matter).
They honestly only seem to have one desire and that is to sell virtual Star Trek collectables to a fed/Rom fanbase used to buying them.
Well we KDF are a fanbase as well and would like be able to buy some Star trek collectibles for STO. We've have even given many ideas of what we would like to see sold to us, yet we have seen little over the years.
Its past time that Cryptic, with the backing of PWE, enrich the whole game for all fans. Not just the fed makority, the new popular kids-the Roms, but every fans enjoyment of the IP.
Make STO something more than the fed biased home shopping channel.
Look at the KDF. We were designed hastily to get us ingame lacking many things due to cicumstances beyond Cryptics control, given a little substance different from the feds but mainly just copy/ paste, added as more copy/paste to generic all faction gameplay, given fun ships that soon get nerfed due to outcry from the opposition, story lines like the Undine hunt or even the war that still after so many years are left unfinishex, a complete lack of even a KDF design of the faction so that we are nothing but a copy/paste of the feds, the listcan go on and on. Its easy to critize from a position of passion.
    And it is all moot.
My real beef is not the poor quality of gameplay life PWE/Cryptic has left us with. Ive had three-four years to come to grips with being the redheaded stepchild fan.
What still throws me back into being the Cryptic critic is when the trolling fans that enjoy yanking are chains continue to tell us KDF fans its our fault that the KDF sucks in STO and gloat about it when we are still waiting for Cryptic to put some real effort into treating us as important as the fed/Roms.
Frankly why would I wish to buy items that we did not ask for, pay full price for 4 ship modules when I own the cstore version or grind a game that offers little to make me feel like Im playing a Klingon.
The illusion of "disenchanted" falls away when our peers continue to get enjoyment from being dickish to us and do so without moderation from the very Devs and Mods we are trying so hard to not feel dislike us a a faction just because we choose not to wear a little delta on our chest.

Sounds like something I said in Ker'rat when playing my Klink alt. Trash talking is all in good fun. Also it is pretty silly to complain about Klink BoP when Feds can do a Rom toon with superior Warbirds with BC. The very same players (could tell from handle) that complained about BoP ganking were doing the same thing in their Rom warbirds.

Now back to the topic at hand. Klink faction needs some love from Cryptic. Yes that means ships, new content and bug fixes. Even if Klinks are not profitable directly it makes sense to invest in game balance and diversity. I have 5 toons, 3 Feds, 1 Rom(klink aligned) and 1 Klink. Having those alts has helped me keep playing. If not for them I would have gotten bored long ago and left. I am sure I am not the only one. It is also very likely that Klink sales would go up and so would pop if there was more cool stuff.

So many businesses are short sighted these days ... chasing quick returns and never planning for the future.

That aside, preach on though. I couldn't agree more.

And regarding BoP ganking: The fact of the matter is that BoPs have been forced to adopt the tactics of 'kill your enemy quickly, or escape and try again'. They can't stand toe-to-toe with escorts most of the time, and cruisers can just pressure-damage them into breaking off. Since BoPs usually have a bit of trouble trying to kill a target all by themselves (especially with recent additions to resistances, defense, and general hard-to-killness), we have to gang up. Standard approach is to attack 2-1 or sometimes 3-1 if the target happens to be a particularly crunchy cruiser or a JHAS. That leads to a good chance of the target being eliminated with some speed and efficiency.

One of the things that's made it even harder to do this is Federation players stealing tactics out of the BoP playbook and using 'em on their Fed-Rom alts. Stuff like 'baiting', having someone in a battlecruiser or carrier draw fire and then ambushing the attackers in a coordinated fashion. It's an effective enough strategy with BoPs, but it's even more devastating when done with Romulans. . .because Romulans aren't anywhere near as squishy, and they can do this stuff with their own battlecruisers.

Of course, people still hate on the BoPs that are just trying to adapt to an increasingly imbalanced environment. The universal boffstations only accomplish so much on a ship like the BoP.
