There's been mention of it in an interview at some point, I think. Visuals were included. Priority One podcast? Couple of months ago (2-3?). I dunno, maybe someone can fill in the details.

I am not holding my breath for it though, usually the devs spend the least time possible on anything KDF so it will likely just have a different console layout and a slightly higher shield modifier or something.
I really want them to do something unique to the KDF though, like say transporter boarding parties like what happens in the way of the warrior , Negh'var takes down DS9's shield and sends over boarding parties. Its very Klingon and it would be something unique to us.
I don't see much point doing the super disruptor thing though now as the Bortas has it.
Some people have said this ship will be a Negh'var refit. What is the source for this claim? AFAIK the devs have confirmed they are working on a 'new' KDF ship. New could simply mean a new skin for an existing model remade for refit purposes (like the Regent class did for the Sovereign). Or it could mean a totally new ship (like an escort carrier hybrid, something which the other two factions now have).
As much as I'd love a Negh'var refit, can someone actually provide the clues that point to that?

We've also had a lot of forum speculations regarding a T5 Negh'var Retrofit. Can you shed some light on this or at least confirm any of it? Are the KDF players right to be expecting this new T5 ship before the end of the year? And if yes, can we have some details?
[CaptainGeko] There is a new T5 Klingon ship planned. It?s actually already designed and partly made. We had hoped on releasing it before the end of the year, but that may not be practical anymore. The ship artists are feverishly working on some epic Voth ships and other Season 8 content at the moment. I prefer not to speculate at this time when the new Klingon ship will be done, but it?s in the works.
I really think the KDF needs a sweeping review of the Raptor, Destroyer, and BOP lineup. All of these have been left behind even as far back as when the Fleet Ship / Starbase System was implemented. Fed ships since then have statistically been quite superior in these departments. Now with the Romulans, who even surpass the highpowered Fed Escort lineup, KDF equivalents are even further behind.
An update to KDF ship types that I listed is really needed.
Now, something else to get you thinking even more is this:
With the recent Romulan Tactical Warbirds, which a number agree is quite lackluster, Cryptic, just 1 week after its release, enhances the ship even more by introducing a hangar. Not even the Feds got that kind of babying, much less the KDF. Just 1 week, they decide to improve the ship even more. This is after complaints of existing Fed & KDF vessels over the years never receiving tweaks, yet the Subfaction Romulans, got an improvement to their 1 week old ship.
Speaking of going over the KDF ship lineup. . .in the face of the Romulan ships, the continually-powerful Federation escorts, AND the nonstop barrage of lockbox ships, having the Raptor class seems kinda pointless now. Not if they're gonna insist on keeping the turn axis borked and the turn rates a little low. I'd support just eliminating the Raptor class and buffing BoPs to fill both their current 'role' and the escort/raptor role. If they're gonna continue to jerk us around with lesser ship variety, they might as well give us that so it doesn't continue sabotage the faction. At this point, Raptors are pretty. . .meh. About the only thing really differentiating them from BoPs is the hull.

BOPs usefulness has slipped quite a lot since the introduction of the rom ships. They have ships with better hull more console and BOFF slots battle cloak and the turn rate. The BOPs are as much second rate as the raptors are to the fed escorts.

Obviously the Dev's care more about the Epic ''Voth'' ships and their lock box variants than to put any Tier 5 KDF C-store ship this year which they said earlier they gonna release, and for what now?... like 2 years since the Bortasqu came out.

I can't really fault them for making a free ship for everyone, it kind of comes off as selfish. But I really would like us to be told we are 100% the next C-Store ship.

The only way to get players to have KDF characters is the tried and tested way they did at the start, by giving them really strong ships. For a while then there were so many complaints from FED that the klingons had tougher ships with cloaking powers...not anymore.
