Borg faction idea

So I'll start with background info of the faction. Basically its either the borg cooperative seen in Voyager that Chakotey was briefly linked to or unimatrix 0 haven't decided yet but culturally they are like the borg except they dont force assimilations [except enemies and criminals] and when not in combat they operate individually but in combat they go into "collective" mode to better their chances.


Their Unique Mechanic

So they have no Boffs but they do have specialists for ground missions that function the same. You might wonder how they use Boff abilities, they bascially have several slots that boff abilities can be put into. Most of them are universal, although some are locked to tact, sci, or engineering. However that is only half of their mechanic. The other half is they have a 1-10 bar similar to the rommies called the adaption bar. As adaption builds , from being hit and dishing out hits, their boff-like abilities get stronger to the point where they are at least slightly better than a mark 3 variant for feds/kdf/roms. They also change some abilities to more borgy versions like instead of boarding party they have assimilate ship. However to balance this out they don't build it very fast and it start out with them being unable to use them to it being weaker than a MK 1 variant. It takes until about adaption lvl 3 before the are equal to a MK 1 variant for the other factions.




Ships

First off no cubes they have 'normal" ships designs similar to the other factions but with a unique style. There are 3 types of ships:

Analyst: similar to fed sci ships but with a unique mechanic, as they gain adaption their borg Union [that's what I'm calling it for now] gain some as well.

Tactical: like fed escorts, however they have acces to a unique ability known as charging in which they charge their weapons with a proc of another energy type. They can also use the same energy type for a small damage increase but only one charge can be active at a time.

Operations: similar to fed cruisers, their strength is their high health and somewhat higher than normal boff-like ability slots when compared to an equal rank normal. Note I could use a suggestion for a unque power like the tactical weapon charges or mechanic like the analyst adaption for all thing.


Fleets

They can have fleets since even if they are small borg tech allows them to build large starbases with little resources. Don't worry they receive heavy dicounts on project time and costs to compensate for any fleet grind burn out.

There is also a new holding for all fleets in their honor called a unimatrix node. It is basically an embassy to all fleets although technically only NPCs use it no actual borg fleet does. it offers EC discounts as well as bonuses to replicators so that they give as much or more money from recycling as vendors do. Also unique doff missions like the mine ones and perhaps fleet project speed ups so that a fleet can get to higher tiers quicker.


PvP

They don't do it, in fact they are more interested in peace between the feds and klinks as that means they can put more resources into fighting the borg if they aren't fighting each other.
