No I.R.W. Ar'Kifs ?

As with the Lifers friendly little Destroyer, the new tactical ship can apparently not be branded I.R.W.

So, I was wondering whether anybody knew the reasoning for this.

My first assumption was "It's a Romulan Republic, so there would never have been any I.R.W.s". Although, The same can be said for Dhelans, Ha'pex's and all their variants. To my knowledge, they can all be Eye Are Doubleyou'd.

Of course, this could simply be an oversight somewhere (on either end).

Anybody have information regarding this?
Preferably referenced ;)

This is not information that has been confirmed, but my guess:

As stated in the selling post, the Ar'Kif class is a ship completely designed by the Romulan Republic. All other designs were made by the Romulan Star Empire: T'liss and T'varo, Dhelan (designed back in the early 24th century) Mogai, D'deridex, Scimitar. Just not sure what the background of the Ha'apax is, but because it is based on technology found in Starfleet's Prometheus class AND because we know that Romulan Empire agents attempted to steal the Prometheus in VOY: Message in a Bottle, it is reasonable to assume that the Ha'apax has Empire origins as well.

The Ar'Kif is clearly stated to be designed in the New Romulus Shipyard (which appears to be the only shipyard capable of working while cloaked). The Lifetimer probably has a similar background, being designed over New Romulus.

Therefore: the Empire-class vessels can still have I.R.W. because that is their original brand. The Republic-class vessels, on the other hand, will never come with a prefix of an era the Republic is trying to come over.

Like I said, this is just my best shot :D.

    Certainly sounds quite plausible.

I'm assuming it's not going to change, which is somewhat saddening. I can live with R.R.W. - It just looks repulsive... Maybe I'll just disable my hud :P

Slightly off topic, but it is my topic, so I don't think the OP will mind too much ;) :
The Retrofit is quite a nice ship. Fortunately, the 2 piece bonus isn't good enough to necessitate a switch of energy type :)

Sorry to threadjack, but does anyone have a screenshot of the lifer destroyer? Is it the one that kinda looks like someone stuck a narrow Ar'kif style 'neck' onto a T'Varo? I've seen a couple of htose and wondered what they were...
