Why is it that sometimes kills don't count for the score? They show up properly in the "minus" column for the player, but don't get added to the total score.
I have seen arena matches with as much as 19 actual kills for one side. And I have even seen screenshots of a match where one side won 15-12 despite losing 15-18 if one counted all deaths.
Does anyone have a sound theory what triggers this? Also: Any chance we could get this fixed?
I'm not sure, but could this be linked with the text notifications we receive in the chat box?
Normally, when somebody scores a kill it's of the form: Renim was defeated by Hilbert.
However, occasionally we get notifications of a death without a named killer: Renim was killed.
This latter notification seems to pop up if that player was killed by self-damage and/or by a dead player. Perhaps these are connected to the problem somehow?
I don't know if the whole "TRIBBLE damage was dealt by an unknown entity" thing was fixed in the combat log, but maybe if you get killed by one, the game gets confused and pretends that it didn't happen?
Though, I think the unknown entity thing is simply a result of server lag.

I think that's the case. I've noticed that...er...too often...um...with Willard (it's like his Beach Ball is on a rubberband and hits him more than anybody else, lol)... Willard has died.
There's that issue with certain Plasma DoTs and with the Nukara Mines...where they do not belong to the player that used them.
edit: I'm pretty sure the has died instead of was killed by also displays if somebody dies to Web Mines as the final damage.

Another one: Activating temporal backstep. Due to lag you die, and get a dead count. However the backstep miraculous "revives" you and you still live....

That's not lag, like the Intrepid's ablative armor generator backstep takes time to activate. It probably shouldn't bring you back after you die though.
Not sure if you/ any team mates were using tholian mines at the time, but in my experiences with them, an enemy dropped by tthe mines doesnt count as a kill (sounds fair :P)
But i havent used the toon with mines in pvp for a loooong time, so not sure about the validity of that ^

I have seen this a few time. X kills Y in the chat but not registered, had it happen today actually the guy got me fair and square chat said X killed Y but it didn't register it would have made their score 3 to our 15 but they came away 2 - 15. Not a game changer but I was miffed for them !
I only really startednoticing this when the temperal time ships got released.

I've been tinkering with a parser for personal use and I have a few logs where this event happened (thx f00k and MT.)
I sorted the logs by kills, then by time. Then determined pet or player C/P. When there are
multiple kills (pets/players) during the same second sometimes kills don't count.
It's not 100% of the time when they don't count but seems to be 7 out of 10 times away.
Maybe that helps, maybe it doesn't but it could be part of the issue.
