Nadeon Detonator and Torpedo focus Armitage

Has anyone noted how effective or worthwhile the store Belleraphon class console is? I was considering slotting it into my Fleet Heavy Escort Carrier, it has 2x forward Photon Torpedo Launchers, wondered if it was a decent console or abit lacklustre and what the cooldown was?

Cheers!

Its cool down was to slow to be useful. It was semi good with the doffs that reduce cool down with photonic shockwave as when I tested over a year ago that also reduced the console cool down.

Put Photons are lower DPS torpedoes then Quantum: with Doffs and the console damage is based on the torpedo used so photons might not be the best choice.

Don't let that disappoint you though OP. Quantums do indeed have the best punch in terms of pure, raw numbers, but even they cannot match the firing rate of Photons with a proper Projectile Officer build. Photons are generally more reliable, and while they won't have the same raw punch as a Quantum, their speed can make up for it if you work with them well.

Shields of course are still an issue, but get around that, and you'll do well with em.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

Nadeon detonators work with any "Normal" torpedo (i.e. not from rep, lobi, c-store or Hargh'peng.) They supercharge trics, and if used with plasma torps they set everything on fire within a fairly wide radius. I wouldn't use it on my Armitage except just for fun but its great on any ship with limited tac abilities that you want to have a torpedo option for.

Thanks for the positive feedback all!

I really appreciate everyones input. I will probably hold off on the Nadeon Detonator console as it seems it might be unnecessary.

I am planning to build around Beam Overload to drop shields and then the two tubes to wear down the hull of the target, I believed whilst photons where less punchy that they would work best on a torpedo boat, as the fire rate is higher with torpedo DOFFs. I have always used quantums with my fleet tac retrofit escort as the burst and yield complements the hit and run/strafe nature of the ship, normally I am back on the target and the cd is off when I am on an enemy taking more than one pass.

    I digress!

I use the console with a heavy Vo'Quv, since it gives me a high-yield upgrade that I cant get from BOFF seating. I dont like the 'push' effect that comes with it, so I only use it some of the time. Also, that ship stays at 9.5k from target so the console slot is not as important as it otherwise would be.

Not a very useful console really

quick question, can the Nadeon Detonator only be used on fed ships? I have a Fed Romulan with a Scimitar and I'm curious if I can equip it?

if focusing on a torp boat, then the 2 piece adapted maco set is almost a must with 25% bonus to torp damage.

you can run all photons up front, or u can run rapid reload transphasics. buffing specifically for the torp console isnt necessary. long cooldown makes it a wasted investment.

nadeon with doff's who augment the after effects will help.

if getting photons, then get fleet versions.

    run 2 copies of TS

It should be noted that while they improved nadion detonator by allowing it to work with other torpedo types they also removed it from the list of abilities that photonic studies duty officers effect. So now you are stuck with a long cool down on it.

It also starts a shared cool down on other torpedo abilities when you use it. Its us fullness is sadly limited by the long cool down.

Yes!! Once you align yourself, you can use all the zen ships below T5 (not including) so you can grab the consoles.

Rom plasma and 2 regular plasmas with ambiplasma envelope tact consoles. You can use a ddb bo up front or dhc and rapid fire. Remember, you'll have turrets in back to dhc and rf may nit ( a bad choice
