Oh cmon, it was completely unnecessary to nerf hive in the way you did. I mean cmon, the ground version was easy as hell, and the space one was the only challenging space STF. And now you nerfed it? I don't get it. I really don't.
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once.

because the space one was a cheap one hit kill zone, glad they nerfed it.
Yay, HSE group shout outs on the various STF channels!
I'm classifying this OP post as a troll post. HSE had to be nerfed, not because it was challenging, but because it was broken. Spawning and dying, not a challenge, lame.
Hi, my name is: Elim Garak, Former Cardassian Oppressor
LTS, here since...when did this game launch again?
There was no "nerf", per say -- it was updated to fix a bug with how the Unimatrix vessels were behaving. The original design was for the lances not to be able to hit you if you were near the Queen's Diamond ("Under the Guns"), 20k away from the Unimatrix vessels, in full impulse or cloaked. The bug often prevented these criteria from keeping you clear of being hit by a lance.
The changes to vessels entering into combat after the initial cutscene was to ensure players would not be hit when they have no control over their ship (due to being in a cutscene).
i guarantee you werent completing it before today.
I had completed it when it was misbehaving, actually. The trick was to not get your death counter high enough to ruin your ability to respawn and rejoin the fight after taking a plasma lance to the face.
The other trick was to take down one of the big ships really fast so that you'd only be taking one lance at a time. And to have enough competent players on the team that one or two going down didn't absolutely ruin your chances for defeating the blasted thing. (Though it would quite easily preclude you from getting the optional)
Pet peeve, Bran - it's "per se", not "per say". It's a Latin phrase, meaning "in itself".
As to the (possibly trollish) complaint - it's something I've seen in the CO forums as well. There exists a minority of players who believe that if you're not dying often, if it's possible to complete something without having just the right build and the perfect equipment that you had to spend real-world money on, it's somehow not "challenging". Heck, the most recent added mission in CO has an end-boss whose fight mechanic involves picking the correct color post to touch, then getting to a pad of the same color before he unleashes an attack that will otherwise one-shot you into oblivion - and if you get killed, you are locked out of the rest of the battle, and can only watch from outside. And this was deemed "not really challenging" by that small group, apparently because it's possible, if you're careful and a little lucky, to survive.

The mission should still provide a challenge.
Cheers,

Brandon, thank you for fixing the bug and ignore the trolls (OP included).
Thank you Cryptic and especialy the employee who fixed Hive onslaught. Thank you for fixing it and not nerfing it to easy mode ISE standards. Thank you for fixing the lance to behave the way it was supposed to while "Under the guns'.

That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.
I rather enjoyed the way it was before LoR, it was challenging and hard. After LoR it usually involved me waiting till my team quit so iwouldnt get a leaver penalty.
Glad ill be able to play it again, for a challenge instead of massive frustration.
Inertia just means you can do Powerslides in you carrier!

Some found easy, some found challenging it doesn't change the fact it was broken. As i found out recently you want a challenge PVP! God dammit it's hard but fun.
it was broken but it is fixed now.
But it is understandable if you want to have a medal for surviving or a certificate of appreciation in the bugged mission to impress people in real life.
Grinding for MkIV epic gear?

Oh I think since LOR came out, I beat it... once... maybe twice... Never met the optional. We were just fast enough to kill the first guy and all extremely hard to kill. But any other team, we just died, a lot. We just tried not to die and have to respawn. Because if we respawned, we were dead, over... and over... and over...
Thread after thread complaining about the one-hit bugs in hive space, then they fix it and now the threads can start about how it's too easy.... and people wonder why so few devs interact on the forum.

The OP is a troll post so you're feeding the troll. Nice job.
Unfortunately, it's still broken. The "fix" didn't work. Still get one shot within 5Km of the Queen and on Full Impulse as well.
u also get lanced if u are cloaked too it worse then befor I think there after doing what they did to terrordome leave it dead long enough to say no one playing it and removed it

Did hive elite yesterday, and it was fun again. Hard, but fun.
I call it, the Stoutes paradox.

On topic though, I'm glad. I may actually be able to complete it now! Apart from the broken mechanics, the STF itself was good.
But yay!

good mission TRIBBLE programming of it !!!!
I applaud the intention to fix bugs but more often than not, Cryptic's bug fix doesn't work and shouldn't make it into Release Notes.
