Funny thing about STO is I haven't played it in a week and have been playing neverwinter and it is so funny how these two games are made by the same company. I would have to go out of my way to find a NW bug but I can log in STO and come across 100 or more in an hour. Not to mention a lot of the changes in STO have killed off a lot of the playerbase and the change to carriers made me want to go check out another game because its getting a little old on STO to be doing the same old thing for so long that it is no longer appealing just a grind fest for whatever gimmick thats concentrated on the fed side to drop dilithium because of the fact the KDF hasn't been getting much or any love.
Edit: I just hope when a lot of people realize what I am saying that they don't get their hands on neverwinter and TRIBBLE it up like they have on sto.

Obviously you didn't play the same NW I did. :P
But seriously... paying Astral Diamonds(dilithium) for the ability to identify item drops is seriously lame.

aint that the truth...
I didnt stick around very long in that game at all... maybe a week and a half / two weeks, got to max level with the on-rails leveling, got all lvl cap purple gear with no problem, played the featured foundries.... and that was that.
been here in STO....since beta.

Yeah you haven't played the same one obviously after I hit level 30 the identify ones I had I couldn't use on 30+ items so I had to give the hundreds of them I had away to people who could still use them.
Its just like the D-store in STO you can buy consoles but if you do enough end game content like stfs you can get them that way too. The only difference in the game currency is that the exchange is higher but then again the refining amount per character is 3x higher than STO's so based on the numbers its about the same thing you just do not need as many characters as you would in STO to pull off the same thing in both games.
That's it!
I'm taking the server hampsters and going home. . .
You SEE!! I warned you the end was near - the Devs are taking the Hamsters that power STO servers!! The severs only have a few hours of back-up power left!!!

The bugs in Neverwinter are major compared to STO. I don't recall STO having the amount of exploits Neverwinter had in its first couple of months and one exploit basically took down the server all day and the devs had to rollback the servers about 16 hours.

Yeah that is still nothing compared to STO's history.

The game doesn't have to crash and burn for it to stagnate and lose relevance.
The lack of care with respect to the bugs ... witness tonight the constant disconnects ... and the countless bugs introduced since LoR. It has been May and they still haven't fixed 50% of the issues brought into the game.
It took them almost 1 month to fix Ker'rat zone bugs. Boff stations are still bugged. Queue selection is still bugged. LoR voice overs are still bugged ...
Presentation is super important and 1st impressions sometimes are the last impressions. It is a huge market with lots of other options. Unless you are a big fan, or Trekkie, like me it is very possible to become turned off. Thousands or tens of thousands of players can give up on a game when confronted with sloppy programming and lack of vision.
Let's not forget about the server issues that plagues the game the 1st week ... until suddenly the rush of players dissipated.
