I've always wondered why there's no playable Android species for the Federation faction. I think it could be interesting, and make it feel like Data's legacy lives on. They'd also look pretty cool, if done right.
The traits could be something like faster cooldown times (because of the increased processing speeds) and resistance to effects on ground.

Sometimes, if you want to bury the hatchet with a Klingon, it has to be in his skull. - Captain K'Tar of the USS Danu about J'mpok.
But then they gave android boffs to all veteran captains so really that's against that explanation isn't it. They should make them available, because people aren't going to make hundreds of sung style captains not at this point, people are already well established in their characters they have now, there's too much diversity for it to be a problem.
A little thing that comes to mind would be ground missions for an android would be messed up a bit,
Being mechanical the only way to heal the android would be (quick fix or equipment diagnostics) from the engineers kit, seeing as vascular regenrator, medical tricorder etc, only work on living things
Imagine being in IGE with an android team mate, unable to heal it and it being taken down by borg sweep attacks
[Combat (Self)] Your Bite deals 2378 (1475) Physical Damage(Critical) to Spawnmother.
