"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

    Top Notch!

Though if the story is of the female captain, shouldn't the voiceover be female? Or is she's supposed to have a masuline voice, like Dr. Girlfriend? :P

If this is a retelling of the RR story, meh. If it's original, then good. Fan fiction is usually baaad but this seems alright. I will reserve judgment.

It's pretty much this hard to keep just one timeline intact. ♪

I should have moved the camera angle on one of the shots, the story is being told by Vaalker (A male), a friend of the main character (who is the woman you saw in the final shots) :D

It draws on a fair few points from the LoR storyline, but has an original story flowing through it.
It's certainly not going to be a straight rip from the missions :)
