strange results with the elachi crescent barrage skill

as you can see, this happened to me in khitomer vortex elite, the probes that come out of the gates normally cant fire at anything, ive done kse far too many times to not notice that, but i just got this new elachi ship,

apparently when the probes are caught in the charge cone of the crescent barrage, they open fire on the ship powering up the barage, ive never seen those probes fire at anything,

i wonder if anyone else notices this?the picture above was hard to catch, but it shows the glitch as it happens

Wow, when I tholaron pulse them (over kill i know), they just try to run away - quite funny to see them about face and fly away.

Good going on getting them to defend themselves there :D

I am curious about a few things.

    1. Why are you firing at an oblique angle instead of going for a head-on assualt.

    2. Had you blown one of the transformers reulsting in the 4 probes?

    3. Did you report it as a bug?

and 4. I think it's hilarious that the non-agressive probes took a chunk out of you.

All that being said i hope it's a glitch that worms its way into other super-style weapons. It would provide a little more ghallenge instead of just target practice.

    >.> and i had just gotten the ship,so the barrage disables foward shielding when you click the button to fire it,(it takes several seconds),maybe if you had of looked up the cresent barrage you wouldnt of needed to waste your virtual breath

also,i had just returned to the probes from healing a risian corvette that was almost dead, and it had blown both transformers

Little humor at the end their chief relax. Though from your pic your forward shields appear to be getting hit.

So virtual breath wasted? maybe. maybe not.

Had something like this happen in my Scimitar in Cure Space Elite.

Go to Thalaron Raptors that are approaching the Kang on Wave 2, they veer off in attempting to get out of the attack cone.

Wave 3, go to Thalaron the Negh'vars, they immediately unleash their Isometrics, which is an instant death. :(

So my guess is that these new super attacks come with a new AI response. Unfortunately, its also cheap. Because in the Scimitar you are vunerable for like 7 seconds and cannot click on any ability and there is no abort.

That would explain why no matter how stealthy i try to be the Tac cube guts me either just before or just after i unleash it.

    ah,now i see what your saying,my apologys...

yes my shields went down, but being a science class,i think i had only a zillion ways to boost shorted out shields,so i did so

but anyways...yeah,a corvette had taken out the two transformers, and the cubes that came with them, with amazing speed, but had gotten caught by the gateway and hammered badly...i noticed it 35km away from the gate,on fire, barely alive, trying desperately to heal itself...

so wanting to help,i poured power into engines, hit evasive manuevers and swooped in in a wide arc to avoid the gate,,then i healed the corvette(afterwards it promptly started shooting the gate at the PROPER distance this time)...then i reversed course, and came swooping around again to fight the 4 or so probes that had spawned...

being as they were close to the gate,i gave it all i had, torp spread 3 with quantums, csv 3 with elachi dhc,and then the barrage cannon

so my foward shield goes down,i bring it back with my usual bevy of shield helpers...then much to my surprise the probes, all 4 of them, when they come under the glare of the targeting cone, they all stop heading for the gate, start turning and then shooting at me

i was abit surprised, never knew those things had weapons,id even see scimi use thalaron o nthem without them shooting back

then the other problem,i have "very" expensive bridge consoles, neutronium, field gens and the like for boosting shield and hull resist,as well as attack pattern delta 3,polarize hull, extend shields, emergency to shields, the list goes on more than i care to admit

yet EACH beam hit from each probe, was scoring upwards of 1.5 - 3k shields dmg and 700 hull dmg,so,4 probes,2 beams from each or so,3 second 3 hit firing cycle with the beams...

my shield buffs were nearly exhausted before i got a lucky hit(this was after the screenshot) with torp spread 3 and my quantum torps, took out one with a critical, then hammered the other with csv 3,and i timed it just right to subsequently blow up the remaining of the 4 probes i started fighting in a chain explosion of sorts

i guess i should remember rules of zombie safety #1 : never be first

never being first to the punch saves you from being counter attacked by the cubes when you use thalaron, crescent barrage,or some other unworldy super wep

Actually you are Vulnerable for 12 seconds. Which is why it is good to use secondary shielding and tank up beforehand. Another way to get more oomph there is to start charging BEFORE the enemy is in range but aimed correctly then fly towards them. (Only leave a little space as you will move slowly but they get in range and then BAM!)

:P to be honest,im not shamed to admit it,but even though i have full maco mk 12 ground,i have relatively little experience with super weapons :P

so any tips, like moving while charging would be greatly appreciated

btw, this might be abit off topic...but i got the elachi escort in the best of ways...i spent a week or two grinding up dilithium, buying zen with the dilth, using zen to buy rommie doff packs, and selling those to accumulate ec so i could buy it

all without spending a single dime :) a most nice experience, and this coming from a lifer ^-^
