Now, Its my understanding that the tradition for double breasted coats is:
- Men button Left over Right
- Women button Right over Left
I was recently reminded of this when watching Babylon 5, and decided to check whether this was accurately reflected. I was disappointed (but not surprised) to discover that it is not.
I did a quick check and found that the only coats buttoned in the female configuration are the Winter Jackets. Although this holds true for both sexes.
(I'm sure my Gorn will be disappointed to discover he's been cross dressing)
This may just be my own personal pet-peeve (I haven't seen anybody else complain about it), and I'm well aware that there are much more important things to be working on, but I was just curious - Does anybody else think the correct configuration would make a nice addition?
More likely a choice or
LoR or
RoL.
Oh, and more Double breasted coats - Not that its easy to do full-length greatcoats with STO's cloth-engine.
Also: Correct Caitian hair and Paws!
(Just to further ashkrik23s valient campaign!)

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

I have a Military surplus great coat from 1952, that's buttoned the female way. This could well have been a females coat, but I doubt there were many 6 ft. women of my build serving as officers back then - which would explain why such a coat was surplus...
Anyway, as I said, it's tradition. Who ever made your coat simply didn't follow it
