So when will there be new fleet project for fleet Tactical consoles? Since we have the mine for Eng consoles and the Embassy for Sci consoles ( not real sci consoles, unless you like threat scaling console). As well as the starbase for fleet weps, fleet ground and space equipment.
Fleet Tactical consoles could be from something like a defense system station (Tier 1,2 and 3 like with the other addons) which could be positioned around the other structures at the starbase for added defense, as well as having npc's starship patroling the area for a cooler effect.
I'd be prepared for Fleet Tactical consoles *not* to have a broad selection though.
"Participation in PVP-related activities is so low on an hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly basis that we could in fact just completely take it out of STO and it would not impact the overall number of people [who] log in to the game and play in any significant way." -Gozer, Cryptic PvP Dev
Some say that there won't be because the holding are following the doff commendations categories. And that we have a military holding already.
I'm sure they are coming and hoping to be next
They could maybe squeeze them in as part of an Espionage track in the next fleet holding. The Sci consoles are not found in a Science track and the Eng consoles are not in an Engineering track.
Fleet Tactical Consoles will ruin an already failing economy.
There's already 0 reason to buy Science or Engineering consoles off the Exchange and the Embassy/Dil consoles made running things like SB24 useless beyond trying to get "perfect" weapons.
Fleet TAC Consoles is the last thing this Escort-focused game needs. My goodness, imagine how hard a 5 TAC Escort is going to hit with 5 TAC Fleet Consoles. Imagine when it's a 5 TAC Console Escort decloaking on you with these same consoles.
There's too much power and freebie abilities being thrown out.
How would that ruin an eceonomy? thats one less overpriced item you have to grind EC to get so less EC required overall. People will have less EC and prices for remaining items will drop accordinglly. Think of it as that 1 EC is worth 4 of what is was last month. It's basic economics lol.

Put it this way, why bother with Very Rare (Purples) when you got Ultras, with a fraction of the hassle.
The Player market is pretty much oversaturated with Very Rares that a new player can fully outfit their ship and character without even spending 1 million EC.

EC is useless and so easy to get.. there is no need for an EC economy.. aside from consumables.

Not exactly useless. You can buy a whole lot of top-end stuff with EC.

more then likely if they do come out with a fleet tactical console it will be disruptor/phaser for the elite ones.. 30% with some extra mod..
the advanced ones will more then likely be cannon/beam.. with an extra mod. maybe like targeting systems, and it more then likely wont exceed the 20% cap the cannon/beams ones we have now by much.. if at all.
i dont really think the devs will put out some OP tac consoles.. but who knows. they put out some pretty OP neutronium/RCS consoles.. while at the same time putting out crappy science ones..

GOOD. It is beyond ridiculous for any console to cost 30 million EC. It's not the dubious empirical benefit of a couple extra percentage points that keeps the prices so high, but a combination of the ridiculous DOFF hoop-jumping necessary to create them, and pure vanity. If some fleet consoles ruin that market, so much the better.

The last step of performance is always absurdly priced. Is it ridiculous that a Ferrari costs so much more than a Corvette when it's only "a few percentage points" better?

The only way in which the Fleet Science consoles are actually bad is in that they lack Field Generators, which honestly are in need of an actual overhaul anyway.

The amount of Dilithium that Cryptic could rake is would be CRAZY!!
Just think if they did all the different Tactical console types in the game - probably they would replace say 3 avg x 200k toons x 15,000 dilthium = 9 BILLION dilithium!! That's bare min - probably more like 15 billion or $150k US dollars worth and a nother $300k worth building up the holding - or more!
So I say do it!
Ultra rare = 33.5% weapon gain per console
Say give each console 3% Crit chance and 10% Critical severity bonus
Yeah baby - of course with some 5 forward gun ships putting out 40,000 DPS and 30% critical chance + 150% critical damage on Rommies they would need to up the shield and Health hit points of the NPC,s at end-game.

If the tac consoles are not atleast equal in benifit to the MK XII purple energy specific consoles then they wont sell enough to make it worth the time creating them. Even if they are the generic beam/cannon/torp/mine consoles.
I can see the elite versions going the same as elite weapons but I suspect they will make both advanced an elite the same system we have now to match console to weapon.
Cryptic is not stupid all the time and they know that they can make a killing from dilithium sales by taking out the MK XII purple market. Its why the released RCS and nuetronium engi consoles. Then you have the power creep and all weapons are due for another increase rather than just new consoles.

*looks at the Engineering Consoles*
I woud bet ~33% specific energy damage + ~16% torpedo damage.
Beta, LTA, CE, Multiple preorder Versions, all Addon Packs except AoY, nearly all KDF/Rom and ~50% of all Fedships, over 25 LockboxShips, Endurer of Atari's "Year of Hell", but...
