What can be the most powerful escort?

Hi guys, maybe the best escort for dps in game can be the kumari but i don't like very mutch the console layout.
The jem'hadar attack ship is too expensive...
I have a tactical escort retrofit, a chimera and a charal. With the same equip (weapons advanced fleet phaser) i get this damage in estf:
- tactical escort retrofit <4000 dps
- chimera about 4500
- charal about 5.700
I use turret, dhc, cutting beam and omega torpedo.
What escort can give me more potential dps (at the moment i still use phasers)?

Well the obvious answer is, you should be getting way more DPS from the ships you already have. So finding a better escort is not the solution.

Try dropping the torp and go for an extra DHC. I'm fond of disruptor for the team proc, but anti-proton is supposed to be better in some circumstances. Check your weapon powers, you will probally want to get two copies of eptW for the roughly 10% buff to damage with constant uptime.

I use this, in PvE its pretty much god mode, and in PvP its a high DPS escort with massive self heals.

It uses 3 romulan tactical officers with superior operative (+2 crit chance, +5 crit damage), 1 Human Engineering Officer, and 1 Alien Science officer. I have every standard space trait slotted and intend to add Helmsman and Inspirational Leader instead of the two ground skills im using (once i have the EC).

I plan to add fleet Neutronium +turn consoles and a fleet warp core to the ship soon, as well as switch to a Dmg Accx2 on my weapons.

My build is almost done otherwise.

Hello, i tried beam overload III with my defiant, with dhc and no torpedo.
The dps is low, better dps when i use all dhc and 1 torpedo.

I use BO 1 and typically see anywhere from 10k hits to 40k crits.

Typical ACT DPS is around 7500 but ive seen it hit 14000 before. ACT also counts time youre not firing into the equation so testing actual DPS output can be a pain. Against a stationary target with no shields (gateways in STFs... I hit 12000+ DPS easily on alpha strike)

Oh, with dbb i got high critical, over 50-60k, but it's a peack damage not sustained as dhc. With this i ahve in act about 4k dps with charal. With dhc + torpedo 5.700 dps...

I use a copy of fire at will when im not using the overload. Sustained DPS without popping buffs is as follows:

    1428 per DHC (3)
    1281 on DBB
    1108 on Kinetic cutting
    739 per turret (2)

8151 DPS without buffs and before resists are counted (just sitting still hovering the icons in my weapons tray)

My escort table and the following discussion were written exactly to answer this question.

Since you already own several ships in the table, let's discuss your ships first. The Defiant retrofit is the only cloaking escort for Federation players ; that's the main reason for his presence in the table, otherwise it suffers from the wasted ensign problem. The Charal is a clear improvement if you don't insist on cloaking ; you can't go wrong with 5 fore weapons. You observed yourself that you do better with a Charal, which is a clear argument for your style.

Can you improve on your build and equipment ? Maybe. The Charal is tailored for the standard escort build : 2 tactical teams, 2 cannon scatter volleys (or rapid fire if you do a lot of PvP or single-target mission) and attack patterns (you have room for three of them). Also, the escort equipment rules apply (dual [heavy] cannons and turrets, all weapons of the same energy type, all tactical consoles of that type,...). Within that realm, marginal improvements can still be made according to your style, but nothing too drastic.

Can the Andorian escort be beaten by another ship in all circumstances ? No. Against fixed targets or predictable moving targets (i.e. probes in Khitomer Vortex), your 5 fore weapons are simply optimal. In some other circumstances, an escort with a scientific Lt-Cmd will use a gravity well to keep all moving targets in the range of the fore dual cannons, something you can't do with an andorian escort. So if you're intending to play a lot of no-win scenarios, save a bunch of energy credits to get a Lobi destroyer (Mobius, Tal Shiar or S'Golth).

To sum up, I don't think you should look for another ship, unless you want to change your game experience (andorian escorts are "all about pew-pew" :) ). Perhaps you will like to try another character, but with a Fed tactician, the andorian escort is a very good ship.

The charl you have and the Tac escort are your two best choices, the charl's 5 forward weapons and less ensign heavy boff layout lean it towards best use, it should be capable of 2x the damage output you're seeing however without seeing the full charts myself i can't say where you're coming up short

-queue topset torps suck another dhc is better rant XD

Thanks a lot for your answers!
I think the big problem is the type of weapons of my ship: phasers. I will try antiproton or disuptor.

really you should look at your skills and boff powers first, those weapons are capable of far more but without seeing your skill tree it's very hard to point and go "Here's your problem" we're also missing your power levels, 125wpower is a big difference from 50

A Romulan with crit chance BOs will increase your DPS by 50% and MORE if speced and outfitted right in any ship

Go romulan or go home for DPS
    Jellico....Engineer ground.....Da'val Romulan space Sci
Saphire.. Science ground......Ko'el Romulan space Tac
    Leva........Tactical ground.....Koj Romulan space Eng

JJ-Verse will never be Canon or considered Lore...It will always be JJ-Verse

crit boosting romulans are at the embassy, your skills should look more like this and your weapon power should be set to be over 100, i'd consider cycling EPTW over EPTS as long as there's a tank keeping the pressure off of you and you're not too splody to take advantage of it's damage bonus and power smoothing effect.
