I have recently just restarted playing STO. I have been looking at the traits and noticed a one to do with miracle worker.
This all sounds good except what is Miracle Worker?

(I have a human Engineer Rank 30.)

Thanks
Syn

It's an engineer space ability you'll get at level 37. It gives a very large hull and shield heal and restores all damaged subsystems. The trait causes its cooldown to reset any time you take a massive amount of damage in a very short time.

It's a wonderful ability that unlocks for Captain (grade 8)-ranked Engineers.

You're right. The work here is very important.

It turns you into Super Chief Engineer. It combines Montgomery Scott, Chief O'Brien, La Forge, B'Elanna Torres and yes, even Trip Tucker into one skill. :D

The Wiki's Search function isn't very good if you're not typing in the exact phrase you're looking for.

In this case, searching for "miracle worker" yields no results, but searching for "ability: miracle worker" does.

No, that doesn't make much sense to me, either.

Miracle Worker is a Captain-only ability that gives your ship a huge boost in hull and moderate shield restoration. It has a 4 minute cooldown, and is typically used as a last-ditch effort to save one's own starship.

I highly recommend getting the Miracle Worker trait. It has saved my skin more than once.

To clarify, the MW trait, Grace Under Fire, effectively turns that 4-minute cooldown into a 90-second cooldown when you're being shot at.

It isn't the same as a 90-second cooldown, though, since if the trait is off cooldown, you are under heavy fire, and one MW isn't enough, Grace Under Fire will immediately refresh the skill for a second shot, then go on cooldown.
