Don't play in a pub, play at home, it's easier that way !

You can try to make a team on publicelitestf, there are no rule that forbid it. However, I'm not sure you'll make a full team.

Tried to play at a McDonalds once... didn't turn out so well :P

As for Mine Trap. Either EliteSTF groups or a fleet team.

I agree about the pubs. Errant darts and pool cue jabs ruined more than one STF for me.

I've only experienced one AFK in all the Mine Trap I've played, I've seen more players wander from their section mistakenly than AFK on this map. Sad to hear it's on the decline.

Someone did recently create a chat channel for non-STF teaming, but I don't remember what it was called.

With any luck, some digging on the forums might turn it up, or the creator might notice this thread.
You're right. The work here is very important.

Problems with it are as followed.

Not enough time for new players to read what to do because someone starts the mission timer.

Easy for new people to get lost with the color borders on the map now gone.

One of the more popular missions for leechers to show up for.

The mission is bugged. Sometimes Romulans don't come out of the buildings so that they can be escorted to the shuttle landing zones.

When did this start? I play mine trap quite a lot and I've never seen this.

The only time I've seen civvies fail to exit a building is when the building was destroyed during the attack wave.

yeah the number of civvies is determined by the number of fatalities during the attack. If a sector is overrun it won't spawn any.

I don't know when it started but it seems to be a rare random thing.

I think a quick fix for Mine Trap (and perhaps other events), would be to adjust the difficulty for say 10 players, but not start until there are 20. That way, you can have 10 people leeching off of others, deciding they didn't want Mine Trap after all , or getting stuck in loading limbo and the rest who are actually there to play can still be successful.

I think it's "Salt Vampires" Or "Salt Zombies" is the channel for Mine Trap quing.

One of the biggest changes - and failures of Mine Trap no is they got away from the color coding of the "zones", so its hard to explain to someone where they should be, because that tends to be an issue - players start assisting the wrong section, leaving one short-handed.

    Agreed! ^ This! +1!
Brandon, this is why I insult Cryptic. Because you do stupid things like this and don't fix it, but when you find something that works in our advantage, be it originally intended or not, you drop the server for emergency maintenance to change it. I find it hard to respect a company that doesn't respect its player base.
I understand that PWE is pulling Cryptic's strings, but you are in a position to voice our comments and concerns up the chain, yet it appears that no one cares.
How much time and effort went into the new stupidbox that could have been spent fixing bugs, fixing mistakes, or addressing players concerns?
While you're not fixing stuff, I want to buy 100 large power cells at a time like I can large hypos and large shield batteries. And sometimes the stupid tribbles eat something immediately instead of waiting an hour. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?

I wish they turn Mine trap into a
adventure zone rather then a pve
    queue mission.

Dude, what you talking about. Even color coding didn't even help with Mine Trap, people still didn't know which sector they were supposed to protect. :P

This is what they need to do for Mine Trap:

    1) Put the beam-in location in the actual sector you are to protect.

    2) Put a very obvious sign that says "stay here!"

    3) Put a very annoying sign that says "dude, wrong way" when you go into someone else's territory or follow the wrong path in the final part!

    4) Install electric zappers for AFKers.

Agreed - only a few days ago I played an instance where two members of the zone I was in were killed, respawned elsewhere and STAYED in whichever zone they'd respawned into. Resulted in the three of us remaining being unable to contain the salt vampires and the destruction of the (market) district.

I think i was in that same instance
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Well one major annoyance is that it seems to pick respawn points at random. It's hard to remember which is yours. that and fighting to get back to the "right" sector is often just as time consuming as defending it would be.

If I have to respawn I often find myself fighting to stay alive more than actually moving to my original sector.
