Help! What's wrong with this?

carbongripcarbongrip Member Posts: 0 Arc User
Ok I am not new to programming but star trek online keybind syntax is crazy:confused:

I use this in chat in space...

/bind 9 This is Captain Jiyoz of the Federation Starship Challenger...I am here by taking command of the fleet, target the following cordinance < "&target" > and fire on my command.

...and get this when hitting key 9

Unknown command "This".

Please HELP!

You're trying to bind a text string to a key.

It doesn't do that. Key binds are for skills, etc...

You can actually bind chat strings. You just forgot to insert the chat channel name in between the 9 and the This, e.g. Zone, Local, etc.

Oh, and it's not cordinance, it's coordinates.

Try using $target without quotes or brackets or <>.

You would probably get this as a reply:

"We are all Admirals here. You aren't getting command of anything...Captain..." :P

It's already been said before, but to be redundant (because English is important):

It's not 'cordinance'. That isn't even a word.
    It's coordinates.
Also, hereby is one word. Not two.

Good and proper help on the binding syntax. Now let's fix that non-word before he uses it in-game and gets some smart-TRIBBLE ignoring his phrase just to ask 'lol what iis cordinance???'. :)

Well, if we really want to nitpick there should be a period to separate the "taking command of the fleet" from "target the following coordinates".

    EDIT:

Oh and by "I am here by taking command..." he may be saying that the reason he is there is because he took command of the fleet and not that he is taking command of the fleet there/at that time :P
