Renowned gaming community AIE has opened its doors to new member recruitment in Star Trek Online for our Federation based fleet and we want YOU to join us as we trek though the stars.

Why would you want to join AIE-C in STO?
Formed just over six months ago, Alea Iacta Est Clasis (AIE-C for short) is already a level 9 fleet with a tier 3 shipyard and we are currently constructing our tier 3 Starbase. This has been accomplished with our 100+ member fleet who is active, social and very supportive. Chat and grouping is regular and encouraged. While we are happy with the progress we've made on fleet assets, it's the players and the overall sense of community that makes AIE stand out. We are an organized group with active, dedicated forms, Vent server, a membership application/roster system, a wiki, and we have (semi)regular fleet get togethers on the Starbase where we have contests, games and prizes.

Who is AIE-C in STO?
We range from long time lifetime subscribers to brand spanking new players. We help each other with answering questions, crafting, equipment and more. We all know everyone was new to the game at some point, so we don't tolerate "newb bashing" or calling anyone out for not having an optimal ship or skills. We encourage every player to play their way and respect the gaming choices of others. Want to RP? Sure, feel free. Want to min/max and get ALL the purplez?! That's great too. We have everyone from PVE players to crafters. Rep grinding grognards to people with a back story for their character (and all their bridge officers). It's all good.

What are the requirements to join?
Do you like Star Trek? Are you a laid back, fun person? Are you looking for other fun, laid back Star Trek fans to play with?

If you answer yes, then those are pretty much the requirements.

AIE-C in STO adheres to the code of conduct set forth in AIE (the main/parent gaming community). Basically, it boils down to "We won't tolerate guild drama." You can view our policies here. We are a family friendly (yes, that means no swearing), casual guild who likes to hang out, talk Star Trek and just have a good time.

While we like it when people donate to fleet assets, it's not a requirement to join the fleet and we don't penalize people if they choose not to contribute (but really, there is some pretty cool stuff to get, so why not?)

We recommend you look over the community website and visit our forums to see if we'd be a good fit for your play style and temperament.

If this all sounds good to you, then all you need to do is submit an application though our UMAMI system (you can use me as a reference). It's as easy as that. You will be notified though email of your application status and if accepted you will get a fleet invite sent your way.

What is this "parent" gaming community you are talking about?
AIE-C is only one arm of the overall AIE gaming community. While the guild started in World of Warcratf (and now boasts over 5000+ members) we have active communities established in other games such as EVE Online, Star Wars: The Old Republic, The Secret World, Rift, Guild Wars 2 and others. We realized that we all liked playing together with other AIE folks so we decided to expand into other games using the core AIE values to guide the creation and development of those communities.

By the way, "Alea Iacta Est" is Latin for "The die has been cast". Our use of this motto plays on the double meaning of dice used in gaming and "we like Latin phrases".

Please feel free to post any questions in the thread and I will do my best to address them.
