We will be bringing down Star Trek Online tomorrow, Thursday, August 8th, at 7AM PDT (click here to view in your timezone) for maintenance and to apply a new patch. Patch notes can be found here, and we expect this maintenance to last for 2.5 hours. The test server may also be unavailable during this time.

is there a chance perhaps that sometimes, sto can switch the times so that it's a good time for those of us in Europe?
There have been a couple times, as far as I know, but only a couple, in basically a year-and-a-half.
I know it isn't a good chance , seeing as how the time zones are different, but I was....just kinda hoping..... that maybe Sto could alternate,
one week they do what they always do, then another they schedule the maintenance that is a good time for Europe... then the week after back to normal and after that , a good time for Europe again...
any probability of that happening any time soon ? say within the next century?
Whenver I log into the game, no one else is there but me. And all the other NPCs in the game. Does that mean that the game is not finished with the maintainance? Or there is really something wrong with my pc?
I'm a noob so please forgive me if I sound stupid with the question
maintenance does not happen till morning, usually when the launcher and website say so in red so for you too get in game and no one is there I would have to say you are having some serious problems, wish I could help but really don't have enough info to know what is exactly going on that you only see yourself in game.

This guy is right. From the sounds of it, you might be under the minimum specs for the game. That, or your graphics card is on the fritz.
But without knowing your setup, there's not much we can do to help diagnose the problem.
You might also want to post this in the tech part of the forums if you have not allready done so, as this is not really the right place to be discussing tech problems...
branflakes when can we expect some real bug fixing to happen ? , with all this new staff dan keeps saying cryptic have hired where are the people to rid the game of bugs ? . from the players side of things cryptic are happy on adding new content but fail to fix things that have been in need of fixing for months
- When will ships that have seperated sourcers or those that can split up the ability to control the part that is not controlled by the user. Meaning, I have the Advanced Ha'akona, and each time the non-controlled part does whatever it wants, but never what I want it to do. It wanders around, for example in KSE, it goes to the other side of the map and starts to attack the probes overthere. Mebbe a system like on the carriers would be nice to see on these ships with seperation modules.
- Another issue with these ships is, when someone decides that the weapon layout should be, for example, all antiproton, why does the seperated module falls back to it's 'original' (standard) weapon layout (in case of the advanced ha'akona, mk X plasma beams or cannons (depends which section you control). Shouldn't that non controlled part have the same weapons as the controlled part.
- Also, the new carrier system flaws like hell. I never have the full amount of pets deployed, seems not possible to obtain. There is always one or two pets missing, at least. If I can deploy 12 pets as max, I want to be able to deploy the max, or be able to replace those that are destroyed, which is often not the case. Furthermore, I had the case last night, that I wasn't able to recall my JHAS pets at all, whatever command I tried to give. Itself isn't an issue when you are destroying some gens or transformers, but it's annoying when you start attacking cubes, spheres and the rest. Those pets need to be within 15 km of the target to start attacking it, why not give them also an action radius from the carrier ?
OK, if I have to stay here for a while, your cieling ... looks idious.:D
Oh boy, here we go again. Gotta put another matchbook under that server there? Eh heh heh...
Someone should buy them a spirit level.
On topic. When are we likely to see a fix for carrier commands? Considering the last patch broke them to me it would make it somewhat important to fix it.

Great bug fixes keep up the good work cryptic.
its so nice to see all these bugs being quickly fixed and addressed unlike some games where bugs remain for years.
Yeah I've run into numerous errors with the carrier UI. Both on my Scimitar using the advanced probes and on my Jem'Hadar Dreadnought Carrier using elite scorpions. Both ships have the problem of replacing the current fighter but not spawning more (still) , fighters still like to fly off and do their own thing despite telling them otherwise (still) Recall is iffy at best. I still lose entire wings of Scorpions when cubes go pop.
Still waiting on the power trays to be cleared up. Every time one of my Romulan characters zone, they're a mess. (bit of a work around for people on that one actually, cycle through and use trays 7-8-9 they were clear for me)
Scimitar still feels like something is wrong. I have 2 Fleet Mk XI Neutroniums on mine and the hull still acts like tinfoil, whatever you do, don't lose those shields... EVER!
I've seen this happen on all 3 pc's here, sometimes certain dialog boxes shake, sometimes a doff one, sometimes a mission pop up, seems random.
They've got to introduce new ships (won't say content, because that would be a stretch) and other new toys to keep people's interest while sucking all their Zen and in-game currencies for tedious grinds, just to be able to get all the best gear.
Why fix bugs when clearly there's no need to and people will still buy boxes and dilithium regardless of all the gamebreaking problems? I mean, it's just a waste of time and effort that won't bring any money in return, just like the KDF faction.
And if suddenly people will actually wake up and realise the game has become unplayable they'll leave and Cryptic will just close STO server and move to something else. MMO games 101.
On a serious note, yeah it would be nice to see a fix at least for all the abilities auto-targeting players' torpedos and pets instead of themselves or their selected target. Or all the pets that are broken ever since carrier commands were introduced. Or missing KHG costume options. Or non-customizable Marauding boff. Or broken tailor costume slots. Or... meh, whatever, I'm going to play something else.

The only way to get hanger ships for Fed and Romulan is through Zen or lock box ships. The commands for the fighters that work with them are broken. Therefore this puts people off paying for them thus a drop in income. This means it is an important fix from an economic point of view. Hopefully this will sway the overlords in accounting.

But most people do not know about these bugs. how many people goes to the forum? 1% 10%? The rest will just buy the ship for zen and only then discover how broken it is. But they already paid the money, so why to fix it?

When it involves real world cash, somewhere along the line, it does not take long for complaint of this nature to move from the forum and into the game itself so it reaches a wider audience.

O.K. so where else can someone learn about this or any other game bug? Well using Steam wallet you can buy zen by one click using your wallet where you could put money a long time ago. So I really disagree about the real money argument. If it was true, no one would pay a montly subscribtion because the game itself is buggy as hell...
What ever happened to the customer is always right philosophy ?
When will the mail be fixed, I know a previous patch was supposed to address this problem and was added to the notes but I think you forgot to actually fix that problem !
Cool...now can you finally fix the fact that my Rom character fires from her toes when she fires her compression and repeater pistols?
She seems to be able to fire everything else just fine - you know, from the actual "dangerous ends" of weapons - but I am tired of having to replace her shoes whenever she goes into combat with one of those weapons I mention above...
Oh, and then there's the mail, of course...
Fleet Commander
Caprica's Revenge (...actually active since November 2010, which may one day be important to archaeologists, but not to anyone else...)
Things you broke last time: Lighting, while you have released a patch to include lighting options in the tailor, it seems you have broken lighting in all three locations in doing so. Lighting bugs offering a "Fuzzy" effect that takes several minutes to clear, I have never had this issue before.
CTD's, never seen more rampant crashes to desktop before.
Of course, as mentioned earlier, FIX THE SCIMITAR I paid $50 RL money for a ship that loses its crew on the first hit, it's shields on the second and it's hull on the first-third. Either get it working, or give everyone who threw money at it a refund.

Good to know. I was about to purchase it for my Romluan.

I found dismissing my shuttle worked for some reason.

This, unfortunately.
When you see at least 5 "X got this rare ship that has a 0.5% chance to drop from lockboxes" every hour and one ship that costs one quarter of a full-priced PC game every 5 light-years, you know they're making enough money not to care about fixing bugs.
In any case, the customer is screwed.
- You complain about the bugs? Cryptic/PW says they take this under consideration, AKA yeah, dream on. Besides, they'll probably forget about said bugs until someone makes another thread about it and they'll act as if no-one warned them before.
- You say you and your fleet won't buy a single thing again? Don't worry, you still have a lot of kids who will still ask for their parents to buy them another overpriced ship or a pile of Master Keys.
- In your dream, you manage to convince everyone the game is too flawed so everyone leaves? The game is closed, CBS says there is no future in Star Trek MMOs, so they drop the idea for at least a gaming generation and you lose the game you wanted improved and fixed.
The stance for most companies these days is simple: Milk the customers as hard as you can before before they realize it. If they leave, don't worry, for one gone, 2 newbies will compensate. Then, they'll grow sick of the bugs. Then the cycle repeats itself.
No more "create customer loyalty", that's more interesting and more "ethical" (that's a bold word for the context, but that's the closest I've found) on the long-term, but that still brings much less money. Why do you think EA is hated yet still brags about how successful they are?
And that's about companies people hate, but I could also talk about the crates in TF2 that "popularized" the lockbox/online-barely-legal-gambling box concept.
There are quite a large number of bug fixes that should be making their way to Tribble soon, so please watch out for patch notes. We are constantly fixing bugs and they are pushed as soon as they are ready. The aforementioned round is part of an upcoming patch build that we've been working on.
