Lockbox, Master Keys, and Romulans, Oh My!

Something just occurred to me....

Considering that lockbox ships are not faction specific -- or rather are faction-universal, does that mean that in the future there will be no such thing as a lockbox ship with a singularity core?

Only two examples so far -- the Adapted Destroyer and the Romulan Temporal Sci Vessel...but neither have singularity cores...

Edit -- just to add an opinion...Romulans can fly warp core ships...KDF and Fed cannot fly singularity core ships..

I think that might just answer my question -- unless Cryptic is willing to design a singularity core version of a lockbox vessel...I am thinking that all future lock box ships will have warp cores....

Never say never in this game but I would say the odds point to no. Seeing as the Singularity core is a Romulan mechanic and it sets it apart from the Feds and KDF...I just don't think we will see it.

I don't think/know if many or any other races really used Singularity cores anyways...

I'd be willing to bet that they will eventually release some sort of lockbox ship that uses a singularity core. They did it for carriers and cloak. I'm ok with it if they do. I don't think it diminishes Romulans, just like I don't think sharing carriers and cloak diminishes Klingons. Others may feel differently.

They could easily claim that some custom race of Cryptic's or a race not really seen in the shows uses singularity core technology. Maybe the Elachi or the Iconians.

the elachi is in the shows ala the show enterprise but still there and i think the iconians probally use something far different

Other than Mirror ships, the only Lockbox I wanted I own,

The KDF Time ships and shuttle, perfect for a Gorn Science Captain.

Playing alien ships strikes me as wrong for the Feds, just my personal taste.

Now if they made something like under the guises as an Alliance ship, either based on cooperation between factions during the dominion war and then shelved, or as some Strike Force Omega specifically Anti-Borg ship, that is something I would enjoy seeing.

Kind of like when two car companies cooperate and we get the same car with two different body kits, and maybe slight spec differences.
Thanks for the Advanced Light Cruiser, Allied Escort Bundles, Jem-Hadar Light Battlecruiser, and Mek'leth

I can see there being one special lockbox/lobi ship with a singularity core, usable by Fed/KDF, when Cryptic wants a cash infusion that isn't the bug ship.

Can Feds/Klinks get the Mirror Rom ships from lockboxes? Or will they only drop for Rom characters?

What's interesting is that your typical Fed player will pick up a large amount of Singularity Cores in loot drops that are essentially useless except for resale. Why?

They only drop for Rom characters, and can only be equipped on a Rom Character (if you were to buy one from the Exchange).

I get plenty of A-M core drops on my Romulan, which would only be useful if I had a lockbox ship on that char. My guess is that they don't have faction-specific loot tables. I either scrap or sell on the Exchange 99+% of loot drops I get after beginning the "end game" on a char, as most stuff doesn't fit my build or I already have better stuff from missions or purchased already, so getting the wrong core variety isn't a big change.

I put them in my account bank and shift them over to my Republic characters. I do the opposite for the Warp Cores; I shuffle them over to my Fed and KDF characters.
