My Ship Build!?!

bumblebushbumblebush Member Posts: 9 Arc User
Sorry guys if this is in the wrong section, but i could use a little help on my ship build.

Right now my main ship is the Support Cruiser Retrofit, and my fore weapons are 2 dual phasers with the romulan torpedo and the omega torpedo.

My aft weapons are 2 phaser beams with the kutting beam array with a transphasic torpedo.

And i have 3 phaser energy tac consoles.

I no if i have all the same type of energy type beams they will stack.

So, I was wondering, if i put the the kutting beam array and the prototype romulan beam array with i loose and damage from my phasers or any kind of damage at all???

You would be better off going all plasma beam arrays with the Experimental Romulan Plasma Beam Array and Kinectic cutting Beam and maybe the torpedo but you would deal more damage without the torps. Just need to keep the weapon power level up for 6 beam arrays.

    *edit,
Using Phasers and phaser consoles does not give a boost to the romulan beam but if you used plasma the rom beam would get the boost. No using the rom beam will not affect the phasers damage because it does not drain power, but with using phasers you make the rom beam weaker than it could be.

For one thing, thats too many torpedoes. You can't maneuver enough to use them most-effectively, especially with beam arrays that don't overlap with your torpedo fire. A simpler and more effective layout is 1 torp and 3 arrays forward, cutting beam and 3 arrays aft. I prefer using the Omega torp, so I can start by firing off the magazine on approach, then switch to broadsiding, but that is just personal preference.

Secondly, if you use the experimental beam array, it won't reduce your phaser damage, but you tac consoles won't help that array either. Go phaser + omega torp + KCB, or plasma + hyper-plasma torp + KCB, but mixing both wastes some of your potential.
