Came back to the game with Romulan Expansion and really enjoy it. This time I invited some friends to the game which gave it a try for the first time and like it, they recently levelled to Vice admiral on their Fed character.
Now the question is, what has changed at this point? Do they get a 5th Ship once levelled? Is there something they missing? Because they do not seem to have access to any 5th ship at the shipyard.
I remember my first char had a Token for the 5th ship, and my new Romulan Char got one too.
Has anything changed on the Fed Side?
Or is there a quest they have to do? From what they say they spoke to admiral Quin got some respec token, one uniform token and experience.

Thanks,
you get the free tier 5 ship at level 5 just like with romulans and KDF alongside the uniform token
If you press on the progression bar it will show a window saying what you get at each designated level and rank. For vice admiral, I think it only says you get permission. In the past you did get a token.
They didn't do the risa pearls did they? Could've got an awesome escort tier 5.5+ easy for 5 mins a day.
It is free to play now, end game ships probably and understandably are bought. But if they are up to it, they can grind out the dil and convert that to zen for a c store ship/fleet modules
Everyone that got to Vice Admiral in the past used to get a Vice Admiral token for a free Tier 5.5 ship. However, that was made into a veteran reward months ago. Maybe even before F2P.
No ticket is needed. You only get a free ship at levels 10, 20, 30, and 40. Vice admiral is level 50, so they get permission to buy that tier but not a ship itself.
sorry for the confusion, you get the free ship for level 40, which are still endgame ships (which is what i thought you meant), Yeah, no Tier 5.5 ships except without zen of fleet, though the event ships are tier 5.5 as well and are great choices.
y last free ship is at Rear Admiral Lvl40. Though there is a veteran Reward, hitting 600 days you get a VA ship Token, which can used to buy the Tactical Escort Retrofit, Exploration Cruiser Retrofit or Long Range Science Vessel retrofit.
So F2P players are forced to buy a VA ship now. Thanks
I have lifetime (more than 1000 days since I got it when the game first launched), that is probably why I got a VA ship when my Romulan char reached VA.
As for 600 day, that does not count for F2P players right?
They have to have some type of sub or buy lifetime to start the counter ya?
No one is forced to buy a zen ship nor are they actually needed.
The ships that are gotten at 40 are more than adequate for end game. I was running with them, and the Oddy from the anniversary event for a long time, without a poblem and held my own in the group games I played. I only recently bought the Vesta pack because I wanted a hanger ship and I liked the look of them as opposed to the HEC or Atrox, and I only got the pack because I couldn't make up my mind if I wanted to get the engi or sci version first.
None of the timed rewards are for f2p players only those with a sub or lifetime. Lifetimers get their rewards straight away instead of having to wait for thee timer to count down, so to speak.
When I leveled up my fed character as I recall I didn't get a tier 5 ship and thats been within the last couple of months
Did you get a ship at level 40? If so, it was your free T5 ship. The free ships are considered full-fledged T5 ships. They get the job done, even if they're not as fancy as the c-store, lockbox, or fleet ships. If you want variety or to try something a little different, you may be interested in the mirror ships, which are available on the exchange under requisition packs (they're usually pretty cheap, too, as I recall).
If you did NOT get a ship token at level 40, then you need to file a report with the GMs.

nobody is forced to do anything...they get a T5 ship at lvl40. From there on they have many possibilities to get an endgame ship (fleet or lockbox ship)
For EC they can buy a mirror variant of a T5 ship...like an assault cruiser with the boff seatings of a starcruiser, and the other way around and many other ships (all 9 console slots)
There are also many lockbox ships on the exchange, but thaose cost 50 million EC upwards.
then there are fleet ship token, which cost about 6 million EC and 4 can be used to buy fleet ships (10 console ships) if you have a fleet base that is a high enough level.
or they simply grind dilithium and exchange it for zen and then buy T5 c-store ships.
you got your a token to buy a VA ship at lvl 50 simply because you are a career officer (LTS), your friends are F2P users and do not get this.

Is it a Free Ship Token, or a Ship straight out?
There is no mention of a Free ship in the log once the Promotion to vice admiral is resolved.
And in Ship yard, my friend tells me, all ships cost Zen or fleet etc..
It is weird...
I'll have them re-check ship by ship in the shipyard.

Will have them open a Ticket. Seems there is a bug.
Thanks for confirmations.
Cheers!
