I just got a T'varo for my VA Reman and I love it. And I kinda wish I could have used it from the beginning. Which got me thinking... what about a zen ship you could buy that levels with you from the beginning?
So when you start a new character, if you've bought the ship, you can chose it during creation when you name your character and ship. The weapon slots, console slots, hull, shields, etc would be reduced based on whatever tier your character was. Or maybe you just have the option of getting the next tier version of the ship each time you reach a new rank, either way. And the special consoles and such (like the destabilized torpedo and the enhanced cloak in the case of the T'varo) could be locked out till level 50 as I could see them being an unfair advantage in the lower tiers.
Perhaps even list it as a service so if you've bought a t5 ship from the zen store, you can unlock a "legacy" version of it for a new character (obviously within the same faction) for another 1000 zen or something.
I have always liked that you get a new ship each level (especially for the Fed's, as it just seems to 'fit' very nicely) but I think it would also be fun to have a ship that improves with you, or from a roleplay perspective that you and your officers improve as you go.
probably not going to happen, Cryptic want you to buy the zen ships for all the tiers, making one that levels with you would lose them money in the long run.

Not if they charged for the service, or a service/ship bundle that allowed this. Which is part of the suggestion.
And I realize that in all likelihood Cryptic/PWE is going to do what they are going to do, and that's cool. But if they never think of an idea, and no one ever suggests it, then it DEFINITELY won't happen.
