+1 Active Duty Officer Assignment Slot - Uncommon, Rare, and Very Rare. So what is the difference? The listing in the embassy is rather vague. For each of the three, it claims that I may get only 3 in this manner. Three of EACH? Three TOTAL of any combination? Can I buy 3 Uncommon and 3 Rare and 3 Very Rare for a total of 9?
You are limited to 3 Assignment Slots in total. One for your fleet getting their Embassy to Tier 1 Recruit, one for getting to Tier 2 Recruit, and one for getting to Tier 3 Recruit. There is absolutely no difference between any of them except when they are unlocked. The very rare one unlocks at Tier 3 while the uncommon one unlocks at Tier 1.
So you can only purchase each one once. But hey 23 DOFF missions is better than 22, 21 & 20.
I was once DKnight1000, apparently I had taken my own name so now I'm DKnight0001. If I ask you a question it is not an insult but a genuine attempt to understand why. When I insult you I won't be discreet about it, I will be precise and to the point stupid.
Oh, damn... I thought that it increased the # of doffs you could have on active-duty-space and/or active-duty-ground... not the # of active assignments you had running...

The standard roster size is 100 duty officers, but this can be increased up to a total of 400 through C-Store purchase options consisting of 25 more slots for 225 Zen or 100 more slots for 725 Zen.

Yes, I know... and that is not what I was talking about.
We have the option of increasing our DOFF crew size up to 400... I have used some of those to get one of my characters up to 300 so far.
What I was meaning, was, we currently can only put 5 DOFFs on active duty for space bonuses, and 5 on active duty for ground bonuses.
Since those only add 1 more, active duty slots, it sounded like they added to those limits, so if I bought all three, that increased my limit for active duty service, from 5 to 8.
From the description, it didn't sound like it added duty officer assignment slots (increasing from 20 to 23 for all three), as it said "active duty" officers.
Anyways, I'll be grabbing one of them shortly, and I'll post if I was correct on that or not.

edit: confirmed... it adds +1 to the number of In Progress duty officer assignments you have, so they should really rename those items to more accurately reflect exactly what it does.

Mhhhh, 8 active space and 8 active ground, now there is an idea worth exploring.

I thought the exact same thing. Someone pointed it out to me as well.
They are merely assignment slots, and have nothing to do with the Active Duty portion.
And yes they should be renamed. Mission slots would be more fitting.
I would love even one more active Duty Officer for Space and Ground.
Interestingly enough your actives don't count towards your general DOFF limit. you need to be at least 1 under to change them out.

It has been brought to my attention, and I've verified, that this maximum has been increased to a total of 500 Doffs.:)
Although this still doesn't do anything to help us manage our Doffs better so we can better determine which purple Doffs to get rid of/upgrade. At a minimum it would be nice if each Doff maintained a # of project assignments and the list sorted based on demand, then the assigning Boff officer would make better choices, after the Captain has established his preferences after several 'manual' assignments. And conversely when you are looking for Doffs to sell/give/trade/kill all you'd need to do is go to the bottom of the list(s) to find the unused Doffs.

Glad I didn't buy them now.
