Correction on inertia.

Hey Cryptic Studios and PWE, while you are correct about the fact that inertia effects a ship's ability to accelerate and decelerate, you're incorrect on a high inertia value having better acceleration than a low inertia value because inertia is an object's RESISTANCE to change. Need an example? Here's one. The Noble Gases, Helium, Neon, Argon, Krypton, Xenon, and Radon are inert meaning they don't react with any of the other elements on the Periodic Table. Still don't believe me? here are some links to dictionary sites:

    1) It's a game stat, it's only there to compare between ships and give the game engine something to calculate with.

    2) From a technobabble point of view, perhaps our inertia stat references the amount of force the Inertial Dampeners need to produce to counter act the ship's rapid movements.

    3) It's a game stat.

Can't find the quote but I remember a dev describing the number as "A high number means you will get to your target speed faster." Yeah. It made my head hurt too.

Where does Cryptic state a high inertia value gives better acceleration?

Empirical evidence: Odyssey inertia: 20. Bugship inertia: 70.

I'm glad I'm not the only one bothered by the inverted inertia...

I dunno about you but my Ha'Feh with horrible inertia accelerates much slower then my T'varo. Pretty sure thats not just the small difference in Impulse Modifier ;)
