"I'm gonna try and convince you my invisible sky daddy is real because that is what I believe. I'm not going to tell an unrelated story and then tell you about my invisible sky daddy in the last sentence. That would be misleading you."
Perhaps if they had worn their "Gawddidit" intent on their sleeves from the start, I'd be a lot more favorable about the show. In the end it was just an over long "Take that, heathens"
Interesting, considering the concept of God and Pantheism was a core element of the show from the pilot to the ending. Trying to tell a story unrelated to that would knock out one of the most important points of the show, and result in a series pretty much like the other hum-drum series around at the time.
Seriously, that's like saying they should have made Star Trek without all the boring concepts of a multi-species Federation, or without starships.

First time Head Six appears to Baltar, she tells him she's an angel of god.
In the first series, there is an episode called the hand of god where Baltar is put through a test of faith in the one true god, and at the end realises he is an instrument of god.
Also in the first series, there is an episode where Baltar denies the existence of god, and everything goes to **** for him against impossible odds, until he accepts god exists and then it all miraculously works itself out.
Claiming BSG pulled the god stuff at the last instant just shows you never watched the show. Or you are thinking we are talking about the 70's show. Or you're trolling.

Ok. I'm not the greatest knowledge of internet slang.
But if you dont like the show because of the heavy religious overtones, fine. I don't mind. It's your opinion, enjoy it. But saying you dont like it cos it threw that stuff in last minute when it blatently didn't.... yeah, that I disagree with.

Did they ever explain how Cylon Saul Tigh and Adama were friends from their younger days (Tigh had hair!) and yet he aged like a normal human? And if Tigh was younger in the flashbacks, how come he was older, bald and grey-haired when he was still in the "Cylon" Earth when he became one of the final five? That was centuries before the episodes take place.
Maybe it could be argued that his memory flashbacks were false memories implanted by Cavil, but that's not likely since Adama himself makes clear in various episodes that they have known each other for many years. Adama would certainly have noticed if Tigh didn't age normally.
I would also think very unlikely that Cavil, somehow, altered Tigh's design to make him look younger and have him age. There's no indication that they had the capability for that type of alterations.
So basically, I think the probable cause is that the decision to make Tigh a Cylon was kind of last-minute and they couldn't go back and retcon everything. I found it very sloppy and although I generally loved the series, that detail has always bothered me. Seemed to add to the overall feeling of a rushed last season and ending.

But Tigh did age normally. The technology to make bio-Cylons came from Earth with the Five, and was given to the Cylons in exchange for agreeing to the Armistice. At some point in the period between the events of the first webseries about young Bill Adama and the miniseries, Bill was mustered out; he met Saul Tigh, who had implanted memories of being a Viper pilot, in a bar, befriended him, and then came up with a scheme (not revealed in the episode, IIRC) to get them reinstated in the Fleet.
And from the moment Moore came up with the idea of hidden ancient Cylons in the Fleet, he intended Tigh to be one; it was Ellen that was the asspull.
Addressing another question, the name of Cylon Model 7 is completely coincidental - Word of Moore is that both of Kara Thrace's parents were completely human. The body they found in that Viper was indeed that of the late Kara "Starbuck" Thrace, transported there from the gas giant where she had died, while the one who found her was the unknowing angel with her face.
And the whole "God" thing does indeed date back to the miniseries; Head!Six introduced herself to Baltar as "an angel of God", even though he refused to believe her.

That doesn't answer my question. Each model of the Human-Cylons throughout the series was always shown to have the same fixed appearance, presumably because they didn't have the capability to change their design (if they did, their work would have been very much easier). Even the final five retained the same appearance that the originals had on Cylon Earth. So, how is it then that, Cylon Earth Tigh was older than the Tigh that centuries later met Adama? Even if they could age naturally, they wouldn't age backwards and the forward again.
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU - Okay, you know what? You all should know by now just how much NuBSG throws me into fits of rage, so I'm just going to go by the numbers here:
1. Let's have every scene shot as dark as we possibly can. We don't have to build sets if they can't see them!
2. Let's make the battles as dark as possible! That way, we won't have to spend as much on the action sequences.
3. While we're at it, lets make EVERY******nthing as dark as we can. That way people will know how dark and grim and gritty and dark and horrible and grim and dark and gritty this series is!!!
Yes.
Because this series is supposed to be completely serious.
Where people say the word "Frak".
Yes.
4. Let's make Starbuck a woman! No one will see it coming!
5. Let's make her an jerk! No one will see it coming!
6. Since no one likes her, let's kill her! No one will see it coming!
7. Now let's bring her back from the dead! No one will see it coming!
8. Remember how no one saw that [insert character here] was a cylon? Let's do it again! No one will see it coming!
9. Hey, remember how in the original series, Cylons were evil, uncompromising, relentless all consuming alien horrors that gave in to their greedy self-serving ways in order to parallel the soulless beast that is the biblical devil? That was lame. They have feelings now.
11. And that stupid stupid ending. I could go on and on about how that endiJUST TRIBBLE YOU RONALD D. MOORE. TRIBBLE YOU. SHAME ON YOU AND YOUR STUPID DESIRE TO MAKE EVERYTHING DARK AND GRIM AND HORRIBLE AND LAME. SUCK IT RONALD. SERIOUSLY.
All I see is a big tantrum.
Ronald D. Moore has that effect on me. Now if you would excuse me...
it is effectively 'god did it' and to some that's a cheap way to wrap up the story as there was no great explanation to how things were happening, no scientific evidence to back anything up, none of it was open to interpretation either, but i accepted it was very religious and just went with it rather than try to nitpick it.
Well that's alright if you play out a moral of the action. Deus Ex Machina as hand of the god(s) has been around forever, but there's usually a point to it. There was no point here, it was just magic intervention for the sake of moving the story along. The worst kind.

Most likely option: I have an opinion on the show that you don't like. I can tell because you're using the word "troll" wrong.
