The very best solutition to the bikini issue and to all clothing issues is this

What you wear is your armor class period

Armor like Maco would offer its protection at a reduced movement rate

Clothing with a jacket would offer protection from cold

    Light clothing relief from heat

Sorta like real life don't you know

It would be worth the effort to make it part of the game
    Jellico....Engineer ground.....Da'val Romulan space Sci
Saphire.. Science ground......Ko'el Romulan space Tac
    Leva........Tactical ground.....Koj Romulan space Eng

No, the very best solution is to let people dress their toons and boffs how they want, regardless of species. And remove the stupid map restrictions on the swimsuits and club wear.

Also, might be better to start a new thread about it instead of necroing a 2-year old one.

Ahhh, necromancy... How I have missed thee. Anyway, even though I'm not really affected by what people choose to wear - I don't wander aimlessly around ESD for hours on end not doing anything, I really don't see the point in people wanting to have near-naked characters.

Necroing, even when done with bikinis, is not sexy.

I had a good laugh with the chat box.

Meanwhile, I'll keep having a good laugh on people wanting bikinis everywhere, and being frustrated because they can't. "I can't see my naked dream girl ! Boohoo !".

Just because something could be done, doesn't mean it will be done. I could go around punching everyone I see, but I don't.

I really don't see the harm in letting people wear what they want in this game, when they want but hey it's cryptics game, so it's cryptics rules.

What amuses me most is that we are still discussing this as if we don't have bikini options when we DO have this option.

On a side note, necromancy is frowned upon.

Why not drop clothes for female Orion lasses? :P

But seriously; it's like with the DnD Drow race: originally they are a nude, very sexual race.
When you enter a game, that have Drow, they all wear clothes.
To me, as hardcore role player, that simply does not make sense: why prude-ify a race that has no sexual limitation?
That's like taking away the Borg armor/tech, and dress then up with fluffy pink tutus.

If there is a "concerned player" that trips over Orion "nudity", then I believe, with all due respect, they do not belong near Orion people.

When Deana Troy married, the whole bloody bunch was naked.
And why not, it is custom to that race.

When T'Pol went nude with her captain in the Enterprise series, it was logical.

Don't change things when they are as they were supposed to be just for the sake of "concerned players".

Or, do what some other games do: make it non-adult/adult toggleable?
I think that would be most satisfying for most users.

    Just thinking out loud.

The best solution is to fix the KDF tailor so half my Orion's costume slots aren't uneditable bikinis.

It's actually pretty funny how conservative they went with this game considering how revealing a number of outfits were across the series.

Granted, most of those are civilian attire rather than Fleet personnel, but one would normally expect Cryptic to allow use of those for off-duty wear via Lobi, if they don't want to make it too easy to gain.

Then just allow use without restrictions after, since players did work up the Lobi for them.

Ew! God, no. One of the best things about this game/Cryptic-designed games, is the freedom of costuming (as opposed to most games' "I hate how this looks, but it's got the best stats.")

Dumb idea. I don't think it's possible to allow certain outfit pieces only to be used in a certain map. Now if they made the whole outfit an equipable personal armor that can only show the visuals on the map that's different. (Think of armor visuals like the MACO, Omega, and Lobi store Jem'Hadar set upgrade) But then you wouldn't be able to mix and match the pieces.

O' Rly so what about the maps with only Hazard Suits allowed???

It's not too hard to do, but it would be just as simple to have it so Bikini's couldn't be equipped with anything else so wearing them outside Risa would become an issue.

"You don't have to do something again and again and again repetitive that doesn't have much challange, that's just a general good gameplay thing."

Did not know there was a "crisis"?

IMO it's petty and Cryptic probably had another million issues to worry about before attending to this so called "crisis" :P

I think if they really want to make things nicer they should remove categories for outfits and put more stuff like this in the Z store as an optional zen purchase if you don't want to grind out the stuff during the events.
Green people don't have to be.... little.

I have a "solution" for the no-bikini "crisis"

    1: wear your winter gear and annoy everyone around you, or;

2: find a nude mod and perv out.

    Imma do the prior.

This thread is the same way how society is (And getting one sided in favor of Women)...
    Stupid double standards...

Complains female characters use too much revealing clothing, no one bats an eye on how Male characters are always "muscle apes" and with an athletic body, even when they also use revealing clothes...
This also applies to Thovan Kev, bet if it was a female BOFF the whining wouldn't have reached to such major proportions...

As for parents, I can only say if you don't like your kids from seeing certain stuff in the game, then keep them away from it, and actually do some parenting for a change, instead of ruining other people's fun...

Judging by the bios of many of the Orion female characters I see, their swimsuits should be restricted to bolts of the least concealing, most opaque clothing possible. Something like a mumu perhaps.
