Thought this would be the best place to ask this, is there a way I can copy my layout file (I vaguely recall one being there) and send it to a friend for him to use? Or some way to do that, I'm wanting to have his UI layout like mine see if that helps him with the game, it'd be a bonus to get his (in game) keybinds the same too but not essential.

There is a way to save your screen to a .jpg file and send it to him. Someone else is going to have to help you with it, though.
If you really want to help him with his overall build, see the skill planner in my signature. You can share files created in the planner.

Yeah I suppose doing /screenshot_ui_jpg would be the way to go. I've used the skill builder before, that'd be the next step for him. I ended up telling him to play the Romulan storyline as it speaks him through everything, hopefully that'll be enough for him to get a grasp of the game and remember what buttons do XD

You can save the UI Layout with /ui_save_file <name> in a simple text file in the STO Directory. This File can your friend copy in his STO Directory and load it with /ui_load_file <name> (Ground AND Space UI Layout at the same time)
Self with the keybinds /bind_save_file <name> and /bind_load_file <name> (Ground Bind when use the command at Ground, Space when use it in Space)
