Block the emote spam!!!!

this bug begin to become annoying especially on risa for example during the dance event where 30 people dance in same time i have 30 lines (sometimes more with some dance).

i tried to uncheck every chat but still have emotes.

So please do something quick !!! we can't follow any conversation cause of this.

    I just wanted to my voice to this very annoying issue. As magebardock points out, being unable to disable emotes in any chat tab while doing the dance competition makes chat almost impossible. You receive an unavoidable flood of dance emotes whether you like it or not.

    Odd, none of my tabs show emotes that aren't supposed to
    Delirium Tremens
    Completed Starbase, Embassy, Mine, Spire and No Win Scenario

    So, before Legacy of Romulus launched we could turn off seeing emotes in certain tabs, now we have to have see all those emotes now unless we are on a character made prior to Legacy. I really don't like doing the Risan dance off and having all my chat tabs flooded with emotes.

    OMG, I totally agree! Its a nightmare sorting through all that stuff to see the actually people talking!

    Yep, one of those little quality of life things...not being plagued by emote spam would be pretty nifty.

    I hate it when there are at least two dozen people on Risa doing the dance party and all you see is emotes for dance moves. It's annoying.

    actually it affects older chars too.

    I had my fleet chat set up, the way, that I forgot to turn off the emotes, as it never rly bothered me, and I could see atleast, if a fleet mate, just went past by me, and waved or something

    now I cant see fleet chat, because of that, during the dance :S

    fortunately in other chats, I turned it off

    I had it turned off by default on some of my older characters and it has remained so, but I've not been able to find an option to turn it off on my new characters.

    I would love to be able to turn this on and off like before.

    can't ou create a chat tab that exludes anything but the designated channels?

    No because it's been removed as a channel, so you can't check it or uncheck it anymore.

    Really??? Everytime I go to Risa and am anywhere near the dance floor I get emote spam despite having every single filter set block every notification out?

    Even on a custom channel!??!?!?!

    Only the first default tab has that. Move to another tab and configure it how you like to avoid it.

    Already did that....multiple times....still gettin spam. its got my panties all ina bunch and im angry grrrr

    Some fleeties and I tried to find a way to prevent creating the emote spam.

    We teamed up and spammed team chat to receive a 2 minute mute (just say the same thing 7 times in very quick succession) - that then allowed us to dance for 2 minutes without spamming our dance emotes. Unfortunately, we all eventually received 24 hour mutes and were apparently flagged as spammers. I cant wait for customer service to contact us and to try to explain how we got flagged as spammers ... while trying to prevent spam :mad: On the upshot though you won't be seeing my dance emotes for the next 12 hours or so!

    That's the most convoluted thing that I've ever heard. So crazy it must be true.

    Doesn't work. I get emote spam on EVERY SINGLE ONE of my channels short of NPC and Combat, despite having Local, and just about anything else, turned off.

    Hmm, I don't get this spam on my alternate tabs, even on my Romulan. O.o

    Be sure to disable local chat. :)

    Local chat doesn't disable Emotes. At least on my characters. Doesn't do so in any channel but NPC and Combat, either.

    local chat is used for communications a lot, at least by me and many others. RPers also use local often. Also this isn't a solution anyway

    Emote is its own category. The checkbox for it was removed with the release of LoR. Also the category Minigame was removed and probably more. Bug reports are ignored so just try to live with it.

    Sadly there used to be a way to turn off Emotes by unchecking a box in chat settings. It was removed with the LOR UI update. My old characters that had it unchecked before are fine, but new ones are stuck with spam. All we need is one friggin check box put back.

    Not sure if you'll also get this to work but I saved my Fed characters UI setting in the HUD section of the options and loaded them on my Romulan. My original character had Emotes disabled before LoR and after loading the UI settings my Romulan does too. It's been patchy for me (only worked on 3 of the 4 Romulan's I've levelled) but it may help.

    Found a good way to turn off emotes.

    Go to the NPC tab and enable all the chat you want to show up in there.

    It never shows the emotes.

    I'm using the NPC tab as my default while on Risa.

    It makes being on Risa even more annoying.

    This was either intentional (and very annoying), or its a bug. I'm hoping its a bug... but the Risa spam is very bothersome. You cant even chat in any tab because the screen scrolls with so much Dabo/Dance spam.

    i have to agree with them, Channel chat gets bumped off instantly making it impossible to sift through the chat while dancing and helping people :(
