Hi guys, if you (like me) have made foolishness to ally with the Klingons, then you will understand that we need to change our ally:
I choosed the Klingons because i already got a FED character, so, i wanted to see how was to be KDF.
terrible foolishness:
Klingon Fleet Alert: it is difficult to reach the required number of players to play.
Klingon Fleet Defense: Never played ... never reached the required number.
uff ... it is really annoying.
We need a token or something else to change alliance.
You will likely be able to re-level to 50, acquire all of your gear and match your current state of progress in any rep systems before Cryptic implements a faction change.
So unless you have unlocked a Bugship, or similarly expensive ship, my suggestion is that if you are unhappy you should just reroll.
Hate to be that guy, but a change isnt 'needed' we are given in black and white that the choice is permanent, it you are really that unhappy, just save what outfits you have in the tailor, and send any valuables to your mail, and remake the toon all together
[Combat (Self)] Your Bite deals 2378 (1475) Physical Damage(Critical) to Spawnmother.
It's clearly stated that your choice is permanent. Deal with it, or delete your toon and start over, or keep this one and start a new one siding with the Feds.
Go to Character select. Click on delete character. Click on create new character. Boom, your alliance change.
It warns you that it's permanent. And it tells you to choose carefully. So do so next time.
Btw, you don't need fleet alerts or fleet defense to get fleet marks. You can use Atmospheric Assault, Azure Nebular Rescue, The Vault: Ensnared, Crystalline Catastrophe, PvP, etc etc.
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once.
It explain it's permanent but I understand where OP is coming from. It is a far better experience to be a Fed Romulan than KDF. The better thing than replying 5x with 'it is permanent' would be to tell them to ask around before they pull the trigger next time.
The reason why you'll hardly ever pop those two specific scenario's is because of lack of KDF numbers compared to Fed side. It'll pop more often on the Bonus Mark Event (having been observing the numbers for months now, espeically after LoR).
If there are other reasons besides the queues, then fair enough, but, like ussultimatum stated, I suggest a big KDF fleet to queue up with
Play my missions on Holodeck! Return of Ja'Dok Series (6 Part Series) Enemy of the Exile Series (4 Part Series) Task Force Ja'Dok Series (3 Part Series)

Plus one.
Obviously there's a genuine problem here that players faced with that permanent faction choice - especially new ones - could not reasonably anticipate.
It's bad enough discovering this problem in the game. But to come to the forums and get these responses is rubbing salt in the wound.
How was this player "unwise" or "not careful" in choosing to side with the Klingons? Answer - they weren't!
Careful there, that kind of talk can get you court-marshalled.
But yeah, the Fleet Alert pops regularly in the bonus hours, and not too bad outside it, nowadays. The Starbase event, yeah, that's rare outside of big fleets.
Still, things might well start to improve soon. They have, already, as the Fleet alert thing was rarer than it is now. Remember, the LoR expansion is still recent, if there start to be more people like you, and they persevere, the queues WILL start popping!
Klingons were pulled from the brink of extinction thanks to LOR, but they are still very much on the endangered species list.
I know leveling a new character seems like a lot of work and all since it took you two weeks to level this one, but the more they add to end-game the thinner that Klingon population is going to be spread out. So in the long run it would just be better to replace it or add a new one for the fed side this time, because Cryptic isn't going to change it now.
I went KDF with with Romulan, and haven't had any issues. And even if I did have a few, it's more than worth it not to have to put up the level of douchebaggery I see so often on fed side. The KDF's numbers are fewer, but in my experience has a better grade of player.
You're complaining that the queues don't fill quickly enough because there aren't enough players... so you're going to leave the faction. Players like you are part of the problem. Go back to the Feds, if you're of the mindset to bail just because something isn't ideal, we don't want you anyway.

There's usually less than a minute wait during the bonus marks hours, I find. Non-bonus, it can take two or three minutes, but that's still a hell of an improvement over the waits a month or two ago.
I've also noticed that KDF-side you're a lot more likely to get to (and complete) the bonus round. Whether that's down to less lower-level players in the matches, better quality players who will watch the backs of their allies and throw heals when necessary, a total coincidence, or a combination of all three I don't know.
How did I know that, by choosing the Klingons, I would find myself in this situation ? That's why I need something to change faction.
I don't want to restart a character: it took me 2 weeks to reach the level 50.
I'm obviously sympathetic - see my previous post - but I strongly doubt you'll be given a faction change option. Certainly not in under 2 weeks.
It definitely isn't fair but I think the advice to start another character, if you're inclined to go fed, is probably sound. This problem isn't new and they haven't done anything to address it prior to this point. They're unlikely to change anything now for you.
Might also be worth following the suggestion of trying more non-aligned stfs with your klingrom.
Long-term I half suspect they'll knock this issue on the head by ending the Federation / Klingon conflict. The Romulans being allied with both as they are would be a convenient stepping stone towards that.
The Klingon Empire is not for the faint of heart, OP. Take your self back on the blue side of the Neutral Zone. Things aren't handed out to you in the red side.
Forgive me for asking, but what ever happened to "buyer beware"? This is just a matter of experience. Players need to learn for themselves the benefits and drawbacks of each side. Now, I do believe that players should be able to advance the story beyond "Turning Point" as a non-committed without repercussions until about endgame. It is hogwash that we are stuck in the initial missions until we do choose sides.

You'd rather find out you don't like the faction you chose after developing the character for 50 levels, rather than finding out after 10?

That's not what they said.
They said they thought players should be able to continue the story and level to 50 without having to make a faction choice.
I think that suggestion has some merit, but it would leave players unable to join a fleet or team up and they still might not see problems like this one before making their faction choice.

Either that, or find a big KDF fleet.

There is other games like this where you start neutral then you choose sides. On various things. So choose wisely.
USS Casinghead NCC 92047 launched 2350
Fleet Admiral Stowe - Dominion War Vet.
