Why no news on the Scimitar?

By now, anyone looking in the Hangar Pets store has probably noticed the Romulan Drone Frigate with it's curious 3 ships that can equip it, all 3 of which do not exist. This can only mean one thing, a Flagship (Odyssey and Bortasqu for Feds and KDF respectively) is coming for the Romulans. But the question is when? So far the only new ship we have seen since the launch of LoR has been the Risian Corvette, a ship that seems curiously oversized for a racer, and over-armed for a corvette. This strikes me as odd, as designing a completely new ship with a racing boat style is surely a lot harder than creating a third Scimitar variant (I noticed the Leahval now looks a lot less menacing and the menancing Scimitar is now the Falchion, something that looks out of place with the rest of the Republic's designs).

I also forgot, the new suliball (this is an intentional spelling) ship, so that's two new ships, and still nothing on the Scimitar other than a hidden item in the Hangar Pet store and also nothing on the Romulan's Veteran Shuttle (Called a Captain's Gig by the shuttle information station) or the Romulan's Veteran Ship (Stat and Ability clone of the Chimera or Pegh'qu). A curious arrangement I think.

Another note, yes, I keep doing this, I know. The Scimitar and it's variants, will it be included in the Legacy Pack, or will it be fully seperate, or will Legacy Pack owners get to choose only one? I guess that we just have to wait.

On another note totally unrelated to ships, why can't we side with the Tal Shiar? I found the missions not bound by the Republic's twisted viewpoints (We are not terrorists, but e go about randomly attacking the Tal Shiar) to be the most fun. I have to admit, killing those Epohh felt good, but if only the hologram to shoot was Tovan, that guy is a menace, posessing my Boffs.

If you can't solve it logically, solve it like a moron.

51 + 1 Foundry Character Slots is NOT enough. Some of us love our characters. If I want to buy more character slots, why can't I? I couldn't experience the entire Delta Recruitment event without deleting a character.

The Iconians themselves can't time travel because their memories revert, but there is nothing to say an Iconian couldn't write everything she needed to do on a PADD, pin it to herself, travel back, read the PADD, do the tasks and return. Or just get one of her Non-Herald underlings to go back in time for her.

Want a Star Trek themed starship command fan-made Board Game that isn't fiendishly complicated but not so easy it's a joke? Download mine for free here. https://roebot56.deviantart.com/art/BOARD-GAME-R56-s-Starship-Command-STAR-TREK-Edn-682732468 A Stargate version of the game is available from a link in the description.

Oh yeah, I do Foundry missions for both KDFs and Feds. Just search KSTF (Short for Kinas Special Task Force, where Kinas is the name of the Admiral you will be serving under). The earlier ones are less story based and more combat based, while the later ones have a much heavier story element, but keep the large battles.

Totally separate. $50 for all three variants just like the Odyssey and the Bortas.

All I know is it better have 2 hangar bays...

And I was actually warming up to idea of the suliban ship until I found out it's useless - such a shame!
If those arms on it have moving animations it could easily be the best designed ship in the game too.

I think We who purchased the legacy pack, will find that this is an entirely separate entity.. We got our pack.. All this new stuff which was not part of the pack is optional and we shouldnt expect it to be included automatically..

The Suliban ship is a better transport than the Tuffli. Not useless, but not as good as a regular ship. Considering that this is the same method that we got the Tuffli, it is no surprise that it is just a transport.

it will be a 3 bundle but no it does not mean a flagship. the vesta and the andorian ships where bundles too and neither are flagships.

the risian ship is part of the event that goes live tomorrow so it has to be there. the scimitar is not tied to anything so can be a week late if needs be. perhaps they encountered a bug. perhaps they dont want it to overshadow the corvet and cell ship and want there to be a little breathing room. who knows, but its close.

While i cant predict the future I will predict this with 99.9% certainty the answer will be no.

the legacy pack was a c-store bundle at a reduced cost for a certain number of items. i see no reason to keep adding ships to something people have already bought. (dont get me wrong, id love it, but dont get your hopes up)

but e go about randomly attacking the Tal Shiar)

Sorry, but I had to actually laugh here..

I think the correct sentence is ''The Tal Shiar goes about randomly attacking Romulan Civilians by the millions''

Technically they have release TONS of info - have you seen my thread?

    http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=766251

With those console images "leaked" accidentially - the drone info "leaked" accidentially

devs? flying the ship around other people to watch/film it's powers and special abilities going off?

don't tell me that all this stuff is out there "accidentially"

No they are telegraphing the ships very well from a marketing stand-point - building lots of buzz and speculation.

Plus they are launching the Risa event tomorrow - can't say anything with that being the primary focas.

I would be increadibly suprized at this point not to see an "official" dev post on the Scimitar either Fri/Mon/or Tues at the latest.

Considering that they are openly showing it off.

I wouldn't be surprised if they release it as a surprise tomorrow.

Though I wouldn't recommend anyone quote me on it though lol

I have a feeling it ain't going to be just $50. You see, I suspect the pricing is what's holding off any announcement or hints at the moment. As a rule of thumb, companies want to maximize their profits and seeing such high interest for this ship, I bet they are asking themselves what price they want to market this thing. Another issue of concern is if it's too cheap or too easily obtainable, STO will be overwhelmed by these big ships and virtually everyone will have one. Then the game may as well be renamed as Scimitar Trek Online.

If I were to guess, these 3 versions of Scimitar will not be sold as a package for $50. I think the 3 will be sold separately, one might be available for say 2000 lobi crystal at the lobi crystal consortium, which will forced you to buy lots of keys. Two others may be available as ultra-rare drop from the Tal Shiar lock boxes.

This way, they will extract a lot more money than just $50 and eliminate the problem that everyone and their dog will have one. We shall see shortly.
