you know that in the right hands - ANY T5 ship is OP in PvE - but as you have stated there are a great many that don't want to learn - just play n go.

    Anyways - if they don't buff it - I see a few rants coming after 25 days - that's all I'm saying.

It's not like this will replace my T'Varo or B'rel anyways so - meh.

with the station setup offering so much potential sci and eng skills, im hoping people can figure it out and survive.

Nice looking corvette! I wonder if the devs can make some sort of racing contest for those that own these hotrods? ;) Maybe the corvettes, with the right setup, might make Tour the Galaxy/Targak's Challenge a bit more interesting (hint, hint).

Not really, I only play for the blue side - you know for love and justice and honor. ;) The Klink have regressed so badly since LoR that none of them seem able to fight alone or outnumbered. In Kerrat, if both sides have equal number of ships, the Klink will duct for cover soon enough. If the Fed outnumbers Klink, they will remain cloaked the whole time like mouse. Only when they outnumber Fed that they will show up and all gang up against one single ship. If that's what you called "more skilled", well, I should post pics of all the Klink I killed in Kerrat, they are fragile and easy and have no idea to deal with cloak attacks.

I saw you trolling kerrat with a Romulan using op nukara mines and clusters. I like most Klinks aren't interested in dealing with cloak attacks, we go to kerrat to be the predator, not prey. If I get attacked by someone that cloaks. I'll just do what I did again and log onto my sci brel made to deal with cloakers and keep decloaking them and then keep using doffed VM and SS on them. It will only work once on me never again will I put up with being trolled like that.

So pretty... not much of an escort fan but will be collecting this one because... I want to lol, seriously though this ship is the first one in a long time that had so many skins, I can see this being similar to a space "HotRod" so now I'll have a choice of the Breen cruiser/escort hybrid or this speedster on my tac. (90% of the time I'm sure I'll stick with the Breen ship, not as cool looking but more to my play style)

Come on DDS - 98% of the people who play this event and get this ship are going to be blown to pieces in ESTF with a 27k hull and 0.9 shield mod.

I know for a fact that at the end of July the forums will be full of rage posts about how weak the ship is and how mad players are that they get blown up ALL the time in this ship.

Most players could not build a boff layout that would offset that low a hull and shield mod - you know that. This is going to be an issue end of July - I just know it.

It looks very similar to Aquarius_Destroyer with a little more hull, shields and more consoles.

Especially with the Boff layout and what i've read from the universal console this could be a mighty interesting ship to fly.

Edit: This ship may become the primary sphere hunter in Infected. It's fast and can stop those pesky nanite probes in their tracks before they get too close and it doesn't even have to use a gravity well to do so.

As for the "Pop-Pop BOOM" in PVE well if that happens it will be from poorly skilled captains. I have flown with my Akira Heavy_Escort which has a lot less hull, shield and consoles and performed flawlessly in STFE. It comes down to knowing the strength and weaknesses of the ship you fly.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

I gotta say I'm really loving the design of the ship and especially the variants of it. It's has a very catamaran appearance to it. Thanks for having the link showing the different variations.

Is there any chance you could please add more images of the flying pet showing different breeds and life cycle variants, would love to know what they look like before getting them.

The console seems quite interesting. I wonder if we will we be able to put this on our other ships or is it locked to the risian corvette?

To all the Whiners. *YAWN* Its new content to have fun in or not.

As for the ship, ok, its an escort. I prefer Cruisers myself, but at least there doing something imaginative with putting more ships out. It keeps the game fresh. Don't want to commit the effort to put in to get it ok, don't.

    Nothing about this is compulsory.

The ship won't be an insta win, need some tweaking, ok. That's kinda the fun of the learning curve, trying different builds on different ships.

All in all, thumbs up from me.

Will there be a starbase project like at Christmas, maybe get a huge statue for the embassy lobby :). That woulda been cool, one we can leave switched on, rather than go to toggle if we want it.

Maybe for Christmas there will be a carrier and a shuttle for next summer.

    Still lots of options.

My mission there is to protect innocent Federation farmers who will otherwise be harassed or even killed by Klignons who don't believe in fair play, as evidenced by your hypocritical statements here. What are you going to do when Cryptic eventually give Fed access to Aceton Assimilators in a box for very cheap amount of EC? Threaten to boycott STO? I think the Feds will have a celebration party on the Federation planet of Risa to celebrate such eventuality. :)

So it was you in that super fast Bug ship that I blew up, sorry I am bad with names. Well that just shows your set up of having 3 evasive doff, super fast speed of 150+ and 2 X APO and 100% uptime against movement debuff doesn't work against anyone who knows how to counter it. If my web mines caught you cold, I apologize, nothing personal. It was a necessary evil to ensure Klignons do not harass innocent Federation players there who have no interest in PvP and simply want to farm in peace. Once a few Klignons are blown up, the rest just went into hiding and become quiet - you know the honorable type - hide & run at first sign of trouble. :D As for the "Sci Brel", sorry to tell you that's now a weaker version of the T'Varo. I have no fear of T'Varo, why should I care about a weaker version of it? That doesn't make any sense. See, you need to realize Klingon BoP are so much weaker than comparable Romulan ships that the old ways simply don't work anymore. As for trying to decloak me, good luck with that : Rom Captain + 4 X Rom Boff with Superior Operative & Subterfuge + 1 X Reman Boff with Superior Infiltrator & Subterfuge + Aux = 125 There is no way a Klignon with a 2nd tier anti-cloak ability can do anything to this kind of perfect cloak. The stealth skill is + 1100 with the total stealth being over 5700. On the other hand, my Starship sensors = +100 and have the Starfleet technology, Tachyon Detection Field in the inventory in case it's necessary. With Sensor Scan, I decloaked an unsuspected Klignon yesterday and blew him up within 5 sec, which led him to cry: "Sneaky!" As if a Klingon wouldn't do the same in this situation?

As for this Risian Corvette, no self-respecting Klignons should be misappropriating this Federation vessel. Cryptic wants to make money from as many people as possible, no one can't stop them. That said, Klignons trolling on a Federation vessel, then they cease to be Klignons.

Sorry for the delay in getting these questions answered - been a busy day!

Here's a quick FAQ that should address most of the questions that've been raised in this thread:

Q: Will the Floaters work on other maps (like ESD, e.g.)?

A: No. The Risian Floaters are only able to be activated while on the Risa Resort event map. We have no plans to allow personal flight on any other maps, using these devices.

Q: Will we be able to put the Subspace Wake Console on other ships?

A: No. This console is restricted to Risian vessels.

Q: I will not be able to log in enough to complete the Ship Project. Can I still get the Ship?

A: For players that cannot participate in the daily "Flying High!" mission sufficient times during the event, there remains the option of buying out the Event Project and obtaining a Risian Corvette.

As stated in the Dev Blog, additional Lohlunat Pearls can be purchased using Lobi Crystals, at the price of 5 Lobi for a pack that contains between 2 and 6 Pearls. This puts the cost of the Risian Corvette at between 835 and 2500 Lobi Crystal. However, every single day that you can complete the "Flying High!" mission, this cost is drastically reduced by earning a lump sum of 40 Pearls.

For example, if you only participate 18 days out of the 25 required, you will have earned 720 Lohlunat Pearls. Purchasing the additional 280 will set you back as little as 235 Lobi Crystals.

Q: Will this overhauled Risa map remain accessible after the conclusion of the Lohlunat Festival?

A: Our current plan is to allow this map to remain active after the Lohlunat Festival ends. All of the associated Summer Event activities will stop being available, as will free access for Klingons, but the destination can still be used as a social map by Federation and Fed-Romulan captains.

    * NOTE: This may change, and isn't currently set in stone.

Q: Does the Risian Corvette have a custom bridge/interior?

A: No. It will come fitted with Federation or Klingon interiors, depending upon your faction (or choice of ally, for Romulans).

Q: Will there be special doff missions that reward items like during the Winter Event?

A: No. There are no Summer Event Duty Officer Assignments.

Q: Will there be a Starbase Project?

A: It will not be available at the release of the Summer Event, but there will be project made available soon. The exact release date of when this Special Project will become available is not yet finalized, but we hope it will be in the next couple of weeks. It will cost Lohlunat Favors to complete.

That sounds promising, Could this be turned into a proper social zone with relevant vendors and consoles? Also, could this mean that the Winter Wonderland and Utopia Planitia maps become more permanent locations?

Whilst I am looking forward to the summer event, I must say it doesn't seem like it'll interest me as much as the winter event did.

The ship is "meh" at best, we've already got a LOT of different escort vessels, I don't really need another one, especially one that looks like it belongs in a pod race. If it wasn't going to take 25 days of taking part in the event then I would perhaps get it just to have it, but I really can't be bothered with the additional grind I'm afraid to say.

The jet pack is by far the most interesting item I can see, though since it serves no purpose other than on Risa, it's again a rather pointless item that I may or may not bother picking up with my toons.

Really the only thing I want is the clothing, yet even there we have the let down of no swimwear and the sunglasses not working on several species that I use.

Don't mean to sound totally negative so I'll finish on a positive, YAY Risa no longer looks like a washed up waste of space.
Join date is wrong, I've actually been around since STO Beta.

Well, you just made me a happy camper, Borticus.

I understand that it's not set in stone yet, but I'm happy you intended to leave the ehnancements on Risa. If it helps to definitely decide on it, I honestly believe that all of the players would prefer to have the new additions as permanent on Risa. I imagine a lot of effort went into creating it, so it would be nice to have it for the players' enjoyment all year long. Just stick a bank/mail/exchange in it after the summer event like you just did on Nimus III and watch the rebirth of the Risa social zone. :)

I really hope that you guys gave some thought into how the changes on Risa will affect Foundry missions that use Risa as a start location. The old Risa was full of doors, so hopefully the new Risa still has doors and key npcs.

it has a commander tactical station, and eng is what it has the least of. escort is the most accurate description. its more of a diluted escort though, refereed to as destroyers. its not really similar to a vorcha at all

Looks good, and you've obviously put a lot of work into the map and the quests... but I gotta say, I was hoping that we'd get options for actual "swimwear" to at least wear on Risa.

I mean, Risa is a tropically warm planet, and it's not fair that only NPCs and Orions get ro wear anything resembling swimwear while on a vacation planet. :D

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if it's an ESRB rating issue; then the NPCs shouldn't be wearing swimsuits either. :D

Sad to see that there's no unique bridge for the new ship, also sad to see that the jetpacks won't work outside of risa. If you guys are trying to sell those jetpacks like it was hinted at in the blog, having them only work on 1 planet is definitely the way to go, not sure why anyone would actually buy one unless it eases the grind of the summer event.
