I so want more costumes for my KDF, all factions have enough ships, though I think if they are instant on bringing out more ships focus on the KDF and RRF, both need some decided ships, many KDF ships need fixes and were are the decent true science ships for those factions?
But I want to see costumes above all else, easily accessible ones not fleet ones lock behind large grind walls. TBH the Bortasqu uniform should have been a tier 1 feature.

One easy suggestion on costumes would be to separate out the pieces to be sold individually and priced accordingly. How many of you would buy boots off of one set then the gloves off another but wouldn't consider buying the two sets in order to mix and match?
This can also be applied to starships. I have a basically a Sovereign Class vessel but would love to swap the saucer section the Regent Class. But in no way will I pay 25$ (2500 Z) just for the saucer section. 5$ (500 Z) would have done it in a minute.
Cryptic should spend a little more on their market research on what and how people want to buy. Being able to swap components and only pay for what you want will bring in allot more in small sales than trying to sell whole packages.

I..... doubt it. I think the best option is large packs with lots of options for player characters. Things like the eyepatch. For ships though, little C-Store decorations like skulls and crossbones and TRIBBLE would be really cool.
If they were concerned that the DS9 pack did not sell well, then they might want to consider how it was sold. There were a few items I would be willing to consider purchasing for less, but I am not willing to buy the entire thing since I have no desire nor reason to, for example, have my characters dress up like Bajoran clergy, and at the time there wasn't much compelling shuttle content (arguably there still isn't). Ultimately the package as a whole was just not as appealing as the individual items might have been, IMO, and I'm not going to pay ten times the competitive price for a package deal and then throw the rest of its contents away.
It's apparent that ships and lockboxes must be the cash cows for STO. While I do confess that I own many of the C-$tore ships, I have 0 lockbox ships (I gave up after spending way to much money for no payout).
Uniforms are a different animal. Many of them (from the C-$tore or otherwise) have been pretty shoddy. The TWoK uniforms, TMP uniforms and now most recently the 22nd/23rd Century Romulan uniforms are examples of this. If they were of a higher quality more people would likely buy them. KDF players have been asking for fingerless gloves for years now and KDF allied Rommys now have them but the KDF still does not. Many have also been waiting for a TNG/DS9 uniform to come out as well. What is currently in-game is servicable but not a very good imitation of what was seen in the movies or shows.
Lower priced smaller purchases sell more than large purchases, micro transactions make a whole lot more money than anything above $10. Break down all the outfit packs into individual items and keep the large pack would make far more sales. each piece of the packs can be sold for 100 or 125 zen for full account use, or 75 zen for single character. Normal 550 zen for a complete set with a "discount" and they would sell thousands more. Then they can work on "zone" packs like beach wear for Risa and desert gear for Nimbus, less zen than packs for everywhere but still make quite a few sales.
yes it takes a bit more to create the outfit and many are already done that they could sell. but these are not things that are a 1 time sale. they will keep selling to new players for the life of the game. So 1 month they dont make a profit but from then on out it is all profit. and 1 new outfit a month is not going to take all the developers time considering banging out a starship in 3ds max is maybe 2 days work at most from nothing to UVW mapped before being textured for some simple designs and ones like the new scimitar cannot be a weeks worth of work modeling it. 1 artist doing ships monthly and 1 doing an outfit every other month would be good bussiness for Cryptic/PWE.

Micro transactions work for the simple reason people can justify 25c purchases for items that are not real vs 25$ for the same thing that is.
It's the reason people will put a quarter into a machine to receive a handful of M&Ms but not a dollar to buy a package. They feel they can be satisfied with less even though cost per M&M is higher. They see the quarter vs the dollar not the handful vs package.
You will satisfy many more players breaking down your packages and selling the individual pieces (even at higher than total cost prices) because people feel like they are paying for what they will use. This will work for everything from outfits to ships parts.
Considering this is a free game to play, getting players to make that first purchase is what you should be working for. Once they have the see the value of having their ships and characters the way they want and purchase more.

My god. That makes so much sense!
But surely if it truly were that simple, someone at Cryptic would have fugyred it out and suggested it, right?
Right?!
Real Temporal Operative: Purchased the Special Temporal Agent pack before it was even officially announced!
The store prices are a joke. Originally I had no sense of value due to everything being ZEN, but once I worked out that 100 ZEN = about ?1 (to keep it simple) I realized that I was about to be terribly ripped off purchasing from the Store. ?25 for a virtual spaceship? Not a chance! I'd expect a small expansion for that cost!
I am currently paying the sub because it is a fair price to pay in my view to support the game. I'm having fun and contributing to the server upkeep in exchange for some extra perks and ~?5 back in ZEN. Since I am already paying, I won't pay again. I will stick to earning dilithium for ZEN purchases and play the game to get the items that are beyond a reasonable budget, which pretty much sums up everything in the store.
No offence Cryptic but ?25 plus another ?8 from the sub...my wallet isn't PWE's personal money pit to dip into as they please. Make the C-Store considerably cheaper for subscribers and maybe I will spend a few extra quid.
Even breaking the packs into individual parts and making the individuals per character and the complete pack account wide would get more sales. Many will want boots or something from 1 pack on a character then later want the same for another and buy the boots again or maybe upgrade to the full pack. buying the full pack for 1 item for 1 character could and will turn many customers away but buying the same item for 2 characters would be a better deal to them and they will be far more inclined to make a small purchase. 10,000 small purchase at $1 makes more money than 1 purchase at $5,000 and having both options makes even more money!
