We all know AFKing is a MASSIVE problem in the que system of this game. The suggestion has been made many times to please code the game so if you have someone on your ignore list, they will never be teamed with you int he ques. STO is the only game I know of that doesn't have some sort of similar block feature.
DEVS: Please, consider this. It shouldnot be that hard to code and would make a LOT of people happy.
PLAYERS: If you agree with this suggestion, PLEASE show support in this thread and maybe, just maybe, the devs will help us out on this topic.
THIS CERTIFIES THAT I, medtac124, HEREBY LEND MY FULL AND UNQUALIFIED ENDORSEMENT TO THE SUGGESTION OF THE ORIGINAL POSTER, HAVING A REASONABLE EXPECTATION OF THE GOOD FAITH OF THE ORIGINAL POSTER AND CRYPTIC STUDIOS, TO WHIT, THAT CRYPTIC STUDIOS MIGHT ACTUALLY IMPLEMENT A DECENT PLAYER-SUGGESTED FEATURE (FOR ONCE) ALTHOUGH I AM NOT REALLY HOLDING MY BREATH.

Wouldn't it be easier to just create a private que and invite folks to join you?

They already have an ignore feature, expanding it to block teaming really doesn't seem like a giant radical suggestion that would take a team of rocket scientists to implement.
Granted, Ignore exists primarily for a different reason. But combining them seems like two great things that would taste great together.

It has already been stated ad infinitum that not everybody has time to organize private ques or participate actively in fleets. Or they just may be in a small fleet that doesn't have enough regulars to get a private que going. For those people, the public que is the only means for some quick and fun STO play. Cryptic owes it them to come up with some sort of feature that will keep them from teaming up with griefing afkers over and over.
Buffy, I couldn't agree more. People are on my ignore list for a reason; I do not want to see those people in my PvE or PvP, and have control over my progress in this game.
one example: Twice in a row, someone who has me on his ignore list ended up on my PvP team. He couldn't hear any of my team instructions, and as a result, we ended up doing poorly in both instances.

They have already. It's called all the socializing tools available to you in game. They're there to help you find like minded folks to team with. It's your choice not to use them, not Cryptic's.
Not teaming with someone on your ignore list does not solve the underlying problem. You won't get teamed with that leecher, but the next person will. You're just passing the problem off to the next person.
which because of cool downs you can always use..
i dont know how many times i try to put a team together and in my fleet of 15 or so people online i can only find 2 or 3 that arent on a timer

And the next person can also throw them on ignore. Pretty soon, enough regulars will have leechers on ignore that they can no longer quickly and effectively find a queue team. Seems like a problem that solves itself.
This isn't as easy to resolve as it sounds: There are a lot of tangles that would occur with such a thing: Imagine that person A blocks person B, but person B is part of a team with C. D and E are also together, and E is blocking A.
So now you have 5 people in a queue. And they're stuck there, because of these interlocking blocks. What happens to people who queue after that? Are they stuck also, because the 5 guys are ahead of them? With a sufficiently tangled web of these corner cases, something is gonna go wrong.

think you have a better chance of getting hit by asteroid then that happen
It does not work because it does not solve the mechanic of being able to obtain rewards for no effort. Someone at some point is going to get teamed with leechers whom they don't have on ignore and those leechers still get their reward.
how you ever played a game that did this or this speculation
and nothing is stopping them from getting rewards now is their?????????? nothing is being done now is their??????
Nothing is being done about it yet. I'd wager Cryptic's solution is going to be just a bit more comprehensive than passing the leecher off to the next poor soul. The game mechanics need to be adjusted so that some kind of effort is required to obtain a reward. Just dumping someone on ignore so you're never teamed with them does not solve this for the next person who doesn't have them on ignore yet. The playerbase isn't static. There are new players coming and going all the time. Eventually, leechers are teamed with people who don't have them on ignore and still get their reward.
you know if every one who got group with him put him on ignore what would eventually happen? soon every one would have them on ignore
I ask you this when the last new U.S. 100$ bill came out and they stop printing the old one what happen to the old one? it was phased out of circulation now did this happen over night nope it took time and now you don't see them any more
As I said in other threads where you've attacked me, personal attacks will only result in warnings/infractions for you. I can't help it if these ideas to get rid of leechers are bad and can have the obvious holes in them pointed out.
how is me missing the ignore on the forums a personal attacks to you?
I agree more with the participation metric suggestion than I do with the ignore list one, simply because of the current abuse of the chat ignore function. Please don't tie something to that broken system.
If you participate very little or not at all, you get no rewards. Can't even roll for items.
Medium participation grants a basic reward only, but still no rolls.
Preventing leechers from receiving rewards won't solve the problem either. Many of them ALSO enjoy the fact that they're ruining your day. One less person in a 5-man instance can sometimes be a hindrance. They like that they can make you work harder and become frustrated.
The ignore solution is the best possible option, since you'll only ever get stuck with a particular player ONCE. Anyone who chooses not to use such a system is solely at fault for continuing to encounter this inconvenience.
As a side note, the quantity of leechers would drop drastically if such a system was put in place. Not only would it become progressively more difficult for an AFK-reward-"earner" to get their rewards for no effort, it would ALSO become progressively more difficult for a AFK-griefer to ruin your day, since the pool of players available for either type of AFK player to team with would consistently shrink.
"ignore FLEET" clicking this option would put all members of the fleet on ignore
"visual ignore" clicking this would render the loser you tagged INVISIBLE to you and remove them from the instance
And anyone currently on a mute from ignores does not get teamed at all EVER

I highly disagree. One person does not represent everyone in a fleet; making someone invisible and removing the completely from an instance are two different things; and like someone said before, the logistics behind that would conflict with people who are queueing in a team.

Full participation opens up the oyster, baby.
Occam's Razor makes the cutting clean.
