Basically, you can only fire off 5 torpedoes at a given time. Don't fret though, you have infinate torpedoes but remember, you can only fire off 5 at a time. As for the use of High Yield not using up a charge, I can be only slightly sure that that's a bug and not "working as intended", but I could be wrong. And as for what torpedo you should use for your tac warbird? I dunno, try quantums? Don't like em? use plasma. Try out what works for you, but best keep damage types uniform.

when I attack normally with this torpedo launcher, it wont fire 5 torpedoes at once.
It just fires 1 of every 2 seconds and it wont use any charges too.
that's why I'm confused about this charges feature on this launcher.
I have 4 active torpedo space duty officers, maybe they reset the torp cooldown timer that caused the bug so the launcher wont count the charges. cuz I have no idea wtf is going on.
The way it worked before LoR: you can fire the torpedo every 1.0 seconds, but each reload takes 1.3 seconds (not exact numbers). You have 5 torpedoes slotted at the beginning, and you draw off that pile when firing, and the system adds to that pile after reloading. If you set it to auto-fire, the cushion will run dry as soon as the 5 charges are consumed, but if you manually fire it then you can keep a cushion and fire it forever.
Since LoR, the charges arent being consumed and the cushion stays at 5. You can fire as fast as you want and never run out.
