Just thought about actually unpacking my Breen ship, to see it has 4/4 along with quite good tactical seating. I thought perhaps i should try the "torpboat" build although, i don't really have any idea what to do.
Suggestions?
I tried this in a Fleet alert but it didn't seem that effective :
For : Quad Cannons, Q Torp, P Torp, Tricobalt
Aft : Phaser Beam, Phaser Beam, Q mines, P Torp
Console suggestions would also be appreciated, i have plenty of EC saved up so i could pretty much afford anything.
Torp boats are always going to be kind of weak, the only good reason to run one is if you have a non-Vesta sci ship and want to run max Aux, and even then I would still run turrets aft. You can get acceptable performance out of a hybrid though, for a Breen ship maybe something like this:
Use 3 Projectile Weapons Officer doffs to get a near constant stream of torps (photons would also be acceptable, but the PWOs do so well the Quantums are probably better), with the energy weapons helping to take out shields (thus Tetryon, although Disruptor is always a good choice as well). You'd then want 2-3 tac consoles for your energy weapons, and the rest for your torps. Abilities something like this:
Conn officers to reduce TT CD would be nice, but aren't essential (my Breen ship does fine with only one copy, and ST instead of TSS as well). Of course, you could try the same thing but using the two Rep torps instead, that won't work with autofire since the Omega torp could fire every time, but could be very potent.
