New Romulan looking for a fleet.

The title of the thread gives you an obvious idea what this thread is about, for those of you requiring a little more info about me or about what I'm looking for then please, read on. I'm open to both Federation and Romulan Fleets, but I put the ad in this section of the forums because my Romulan is allied to the Federation.

Now the observant amongst you or those who click on my profile will see that I've only ever made one post on the forums and that it was a thread very similar to this. To those interested I'll put the explanation down at the bottom of the post after my shameless self advertising.

I am still quite a new player still in the process of learning about the various aspects of the game due to relatively limited experience at max level and I'm looking for a Fleet. I am however a long time Star Trek fan and have much experience with other mmo's. I won't go into too much detail about myself or my history as not every Fleet out there is going to be suited to me as a candidate and vice versa. So leaving the personal history until later conversations I'll make a start by outlining the type of Fleet that I am looking for. I will just say that whatever Fleet I end up in I shall make efforts to be active, contribute and an otherwise worthwhile and valued member.

My initial impulse is to look for a roleplay Fleet(Non rp fleets please don't look away at this point), given my long time love of Star Trek the idea of flexing my roleplay muscles in STO has a certain appeal; so any roleplay Fleets out there that fit the bill please don't hesitate to drop me a line. There are however certain things I'm looking for in a Fleet that based on experience in other mmo's some roleplay Fleets may struggle to provide.

First and foremost Fleet has to be active(both during the week aswell as at weekends), there are few things that I find more frustrating on a day to day mmo playing basis than having a Fleet/Guild that results in me spending half my time in what feels like a graveyard Fleet.

Secondly as most people put in these kind of requests in my experience, I'd like a Fleet with a good social atmosphere. Friendly and mature are the most common buzzwords in this respect.

Last but certainly not least, a Fleet that actually does things together. Not a purely social Fleet, I want to do things with my fellow members. For a roleplay Fleet this has the added proviso of doing more than just roleplaying together, I've been in a couple of groups in other games that were roleplay groups and they ended up doing nothing together outside of roleplay. This can imo get a little stale after a while, because if people aren't actively out and doing things so only logging in to roleplay the conversations can get somewhat repetitive.

Ad officially ends here, beyond this point is the promised explanation for those interested.

About 4 months ago I started playing STO and posted a thread attempting to help myself find a fleet. However I spent just over a month searching, talking to the people who replied and checking out the fleets and alas found none of them at that precise moment in time would fit me. The ones I found that interested me(some of them greatly) were unfortunately penalised by timezone issues, being a UK player they weren't active enough during my time(I spent two weeks doing /who searches every 20minutes of each fleet during the times when I was online though I know these aren't flawless indicators due to privacy settings etc). However if you replied to my previous ad, please don't be put off by this as I'm a more tolerant of low population now provided it's not all the while because of my increased determination to play this game and find a fleet.

Some who are still reading by this point may be wondering if I spent the past 4 months searching for a Fleet and not finding one, but don't worry I haven't ;). When playing mmos I need people to socialise with, be it group activities, roleplay or just simply chatting to help keep my occupied whilst I play. So despite enjoying the month I spent playing STO as a game, my bad luck in finding a fleet meant that I eventually got tired of having virtually nobody to chat to and went off back to other mmos where I did.

    Hi silenceofthevoid

Come by http://www.ufplanets.com and take a look around. We run events several nights a week at different times so people around the world can take part. Even when there is not an "official" event running there is always members about to talk too/play STO with. There is rarely a lack of something to do in the {UFP} Come by and say hi!

    Hello there Silence!

I'd like to personally offer you an open invitation to The Mak'Tar. We've been operating for the last year and 2013 has proven to be a very fruitful year for us so far. Myself and the founding members created this fleet and based it off the movie Galaxy Quest (great sci-fi parody of Star Trek). It's our inspiration and we wanted to show everyone that we're not a super serious fleet, but here to have fun and provide a mature relaxing gaming environment for all gamers.

Our goal is to have a fleet that is not only a team, but a family and unit that works together and supports each other when times are hard. We have no strict requirements for times to be on or how often you should log on. Our only requirements is that our members are honest, they communicate and don't feel that they can't speak up if there is a problem. We have an open door policy and encourage every member to have a say. When you ever need to take a break you can always post in our Risa Shore Leave area and we'll be here when you return!

We currently don't have any members doing RP within the fleet right now, but we did have a vote a month ago on an RP section, just didn't have enough numbers. I'm sure some of our RP'ers would be happy to see another RP'er join the fleet. We are a PVE fleet and while we do not have separate divisions like other fleets (to avoid building walls within the fleet to allow members the comfort of joining on everything we offer), we will always accommodate where there is a demand.

We have regular events every week and we have tournaments & games throughout the year where members can win prizes and have fun together. We require website registration and Mumble voice is required for fleet events (not required to speak, long as you can listen). The rest of the time Mumble is highly encouraged and checking out the forums as that is our main portal for communicating anything fleet or game related. We not only hope to create a great atmosphere for gaming, but maybe make some good friends at the same time, in the hopes that this group will stick together regardless of what game we are playing.

We have members across the US, Canada, UK and EU. One of my Admirals is in the UK and we do have quite a few members in your timezone. We also have US members that work very strange times and will often be on during your time as well. All members range from 18-50 years old and we do require you at least be 18 or very close :)

I would encourage you to check out our site to learn a little more about us. I'd recommend at least looking at the following pages:

I believe our fleet may met many of your requirements, and then some. Please check out our website at "www.fleet7.com" If you like what you see, especially after watching our video's, please fill out an application. For instance, on our KDF side, Monday night's are "Kick-a-Tribble," where we get together at our Star Base, drink some Bloodwine, and do various events as a team.

Pity that no roleplay Fleets replied this time around. But a big thank you to all of those who have replied. ^.^

    Your welcome Silence.

I know we do have members interested in Roleplay, but I always like to make sure when we start anything, it's done properly and has enough interest. We have got members who are up for RP, so if you find we are what your looking for, I'm sure in time it'll be something we can accommodate :)

    Greetings,

Firstly, I must commend you on a detailed forum post. Too often you find people posting quick little blurbs. Your post is very much appreciated.

If I am not too late in your fleet searching, I would love to invite you to take a look at the 5th Special Operations Division (the link is to our fleet website). I believe that with your requirements and what we offer that we would be a great match together.

To bring up right away, we are an RP fleet. That being said, the group of officers that we have in our fleet are not only mature, but are great players to socially chat with. We have run RP events that are organized that all members of the fleet may participate, yet we always have mini RP sessions occurring at all times.

So I implore you to take a look at our website to see if we fit your needs, as we would love to have a member of your calibre. For additional information, you can check out our forum thread, although all the relevant and up to date information is on the website.

    Cheers, and good hunting!
